Demon Doors
Demon Doors are ancient, sentient stone faces scattered across Albion, each with a unique personality and a specific riddle or task you must complete to gain access to the treasures within. Solving these riddles often requires specific clothing, a certain moral alignment, a high level of renown, or even a particular companion. The rewards are always worth the effort, ranging from legendary weapons and rare potions to valuable Gold Keys and unique clothing sets.
Brightwall Village Demon Door
This is likely the first Demon Door you'll encounter, located just outside Brightwall Village, near the path leading to the Catacombs.
- Location: From the Brightwall Village main gate, head towards the path leading to the Catacombs. The Demon Door is on your left, nestled into the rock face.
- Riddle: "I only open for one who is truly regal, a king or queen, or one who acts like one."
- Solution: To impress this particular Demon Door, you need to be a monarch. This means you won't be able to open it until you've completed the main questline and become the ruler of Albion. Once you are King or Queen, simply approach the door, and it will open for you.
- Reward: Inside, you'll find a Gold Key, essential for unlocking the various Gold Key Chests found throughout Albion.
Mistpeak Valley Demon Door
This frosty Demon Door has a rather chilly disposition and demands a specific kind of companion.
- Location: In Mistpeak Valley, follow the main path through the snowy landscape. The Demon Door is situated on a ledge overlooking the main valley, near the entrance to the Chillbreath Caverns.
- Riddle: "I only open for one who has a true companion, a friend who will stay by their side through thick and thin."
- Solution: The Demon Door is looking for a loyal canine companion. You need to bring your dog with you. Simply approach the door with your dog by your side, and it will acknowledge your bond and open.
- Reward: Behind this door lies the Legendary Weapon: The Sandgoose, a powerful rifle.
Silverpines Demon Door
This Door is a bit of a fashionista and has very specific tastes in attire.
- Location: In Silverpines, head towards the northern part of the area. The Demon Door is hidden amongst the trees, slightly off the main path leading to the Mine.
- Riddle: "I only open for one who is dressed for a party, in the finest attire, ready for a grand ball."
- Solution: You need to wear a full set of formal clothing. This includes a Masquerade Mask, a Noble Suit (or Noble Dress for female characters), and Noble Boots. You can purchase these items from tailors in Brightwall Village or Bowerstone Market. Equip all three pieces, then approach the door.
- Reward: Inside, you'll discover a Gold Key.
Mourningwood Demon Door
This Door is a bit of a prankster and enjoys a good laugh.
- Location: In Mourningwood, near the fort where you first encounter the Hollow Men. The Demon Door is carved into a large rock formation on the western side of the fort.
- Riddle: "I only open for one who is truly funny, a master of expressions, who can make me laugh."
- Solution: You need to perform a series of funny expressions in front of the Demon Door. Equip the "Laugh" expression and use it repeatedly. If that doesn't work, try other humorous expressions like "Chicken" or "Fart." Keep trying different funny expressions until the door is amused enough to open.
- Reward: This door grants you access to the Legendary Weapon: The Swinging Sword, a formidable melee weapon.
Millfields Demon Door
This Door is a fan of romance and requires a certain level of charm.
- Location: In Millfields, near the lake and the path leading to the Dweller Camp. The Demon Door is on a small island in the middle of the lake, accessible by a short bridge.
- Riddle: "I only open for one who is truly loved, a hero with many friends and a devoted spouse."
- Solution: This door has two requirements. First, you need to have a high level of renown (Hero status or higher). Second, you need to be married. Once you are married and have a good reputation, approach the door with your spouse (or simply having them married is enough, you don't necessarily need them physically present). The door will recognize your popularity and open.
- Reward: Behind this door, you'll find the Legendary Weapon: The Love Sword, a powerful and unique blade.
Aurora Demon Door
This Door is a bit of a snob and only opens for those with immense wealth.
- Location: In Aurora, in the desert area, near the entrance to the Shifting Sands. The Demon Door is carved into a large rock face overlooking the vast desert.
- Riddle: "I only open for one who is truly rich, a hero with a fortune beyond measure."
- Solution: You need to have a significant amount of gold in your treasury. The exact amount can vary slightly, but generally, having over 1,000,000 gold in your personal funds is sufficient. Simply approach the door with your vast wealth, and it will acknowledge your riches and open.
- Reward: Inside, you'll find the Legendary Weapon: The Weeping Widow, a powerful pistol.
Sunset House Demon Door
This Door is a bit of a mystery and requires a specific time of day to open.
- Location: In the Sunset House area, which is accessible from the Road to Rule. The Demon Door is located on the grounds of the Sunset House itself, near the main building.
- Riddle: "I only open when the sun sets, when the shadows lengthen and the day turns to night."
- Solution: You need to visit this Demon Door specifically at night. If it's daytime, you can wait for the sun to set, or simply fast travel to another location and then back to Sunset House until it's dark. Once it's nighttime, approach the door, and it will open.
- Reward: This door grants you access to the Legendary Weapon: The Staff of Righteousness, a powerful magical staff.
Shifting Sands Demon Door
This Door is a bit of a show-off and demands a display of your magical prowess.
- Location: In the Shifting Sands, deep within the desert, near the entrance to the Sandfall Palace. The Demon Door is partially buried in the sand.
- Riddle: "I only open for one who is a master of magic, a true sorcerer with powerful spells."
- Solution: You need to cast a powerful spell in front of the Demon Door. The easiest way to satisfy this requirement is to use a fully charged Fireball spell (or any other fully charged offensive spell). Simply aim and cast the spell at the door.
- Reward: Behind this door, you'll find a Gold Key.
Dark Sanctum Demon Door
This Door is a bit morbid and requires a sacrifice.
- Location: In the Dark Sanctum, an area accessible from the Road to Rule after a certain point in the main story. The Demon Door is at the very end of the Dark Sanctum.
- Riddle: "I only open for one who has made a sacrifice, a true act of selflessness."
- Solution: You need to sacrifice a follower at the Demon Door. Bring a follower (a villager you've befriended or married) to the door. You will then have the option to "Sacrifice" them. Be warned, this is a permanent decision and will negatively impact your morality.
- Reward: This door grants you access to the Legendary Weapon: The Scythe, a powerful and unique melee weapon.
