Building relationships with NPCs is a core Fable mechanic. You can befriend, marry, and even have children with many of Albion's inhabitants.

- Befriending: Use expressions (like 'Hug', 'Dance', 'Joke') to increase your relationship with an NPC. Giving gifts also helps.
- Marriage: Once an NPC's relationship is high enough, you can propose marriage. You'll need a wedding ring.
- Children: After marriage, you can choose to have children. They will grow up and eventually leave home.
- Property Benefits: Married NPCs can live in your houses, and if they have a job, they'll contribute to your household income.
- Moral Impact: Your moral alignment affects how easy or difficult it is to befriend certain NPCs. Good heroes attract good people, evil heroes attract evil people.
Marriage can be a good source of passive income if your spouse has a high-paying job. However, remember that spouses can leave you if you treat them poorly or commit too many evil acts.
