Unlike traditional shops, Synthesis allows you to combine two items (and sometimes Gil) to create something entirely new and often superior. Understanding the Synthesis Shop

Synthesis Shops are identifiable by their unique icon and are usually found alongside regular item and weapon shops in most towns. The process is straightforward:

Select a Synthesist: Approach the counter and choose the "Synthesize" option.
Browse Available Recipes: The shop will display a list of items you can create based on the materials you currently possess in your inventory.
Choose an Item: Select the desired item to see its required components and the Gil cost.
Confirm Synthesis: If you have the necessary items and Gil, confirm the synthesis to create your new gear!

Important Note: Synthesists in different towns often have unique recipes. Don't assume all shops offer the same options! It's always worth checking a new town's Synthesist.

Key Synthesis Strategies & Tips

Early Game Power Spikes: Don't wait until the late game! Synthesis can provide significant boosts early on. For example, in Lindblum, you can synthesize the Mage Masher (Dagger) for Zidane by combining a Dagger and a Leather Wrist. This offers a nice attack increase over his starting equipment.
Weapon Upgrades: Many powerful weapons are created by synthesizing a weaker version with specific materials. Always check if your current best weapon can be improved.
Accessory Creation: Synthesis is often the only way to obtain certain valuable accessories that teach crucial abilities. Keep an eye out for these!
Stockpile Materials: Never sell common equipment like Leather Hats, Bronze Swords, or Iron Helms unless you are absolutely certain you won't need them for synthesis. These seemingly mundane items are often components for much better gear.
Gil Management: Synthesis can be expensive, especially for high-tier items. Prioritize which items you need most and manage your Gil accordingly. Don't blow all your funds on an accessory if you desperately need a weapon upgrade.

- Ultima Weapon: Excalibur + Dark Matter + Pumice Piece (Zidane's ultimate weapon, incredibly powerful but requires rare components. Dark Matter is a rare drop from Hecteyes in Memoria, and Pumice Piece is from Ozma or Hades.)
- Tin Armor: Plate Mail + Mythril Sword (Excellent heavy armor for Steiner/Beatrix)
- Ribbon: Pearl Rouge + Power Vest (Grants immunity to many status effects, a must-have accessory!)
- Ragnarok: Defender + Holy Lance (Freya's powerful spear)
Memoria Synthesis Shop: The final synthesis shop offers some of the most powerful items in the game, often requiring components from the toughest enemies.
- Grand Armor: Tin Armor + Protect Ring (Top-tier heavy armor)
- Light Robe: Robe of Lords + Rebirth Ring (Excellent light armor for mages)
