Enemy Skills Acquisition Guide
Acquiring Enemy Skills is a crucial aspect of mastering combat in Final Fantasy VII Remake. These powerful abilities are learned by equipping the unique "Enemy Skill" Materia and then being hit by specific enemy attacks. Once learned, these skills can be used by any character, offering a versatile range of offensive and defensive options.
The key to learning Enemy Skills lies in identifying which enemies possess them and then strategically positioning your characters to be hit by the relevant attacks. It's often beneficial to have a character with low HP or one who can withstand the hit without being immediately KO'd take the brunt of the attack. Alternatively, you can use items or abilities to restore HP after learning the skill.
Here are some of the most valuable Enemy Skills and where to find them:
- Big Guard: This essential skill provides the entire party with the Barrier and Haste status effects. It can be learned from the Jesters found in the Shinra Combat Simulator and later in Chapter 16. Prioritize learning this early, as it sificantly boosts survivability.
- Shadow Flare: A potent dark-elemental magic attack that deals sificant damage. You can learn this from the Sweeper Mk. II enemies encountered in Chapter 11.
- Spirit of the Forest: This skill allows you to absorb MP from enemies. It's learned from the Malboro, a notoriously difficult enemy that appears in the Shinra Combat Simulator and later in Chapter 14.
- Algid Aura: A powerful ice-based attack. This can be learned from the Ice Golem enemies found in the Shinra Combat Simulator.
- Flaming Crush: A fiery physical attack. The Flame Mantis, encountered in Chapter 7 and the Shinra Combat Simulator, is the source of this skill.
Remember to equip the Enemy Skill Materia on the character you intend to use to learn the skill. Once learned, the skill will be available for all party members to use, regardless of whether they have the Materia equipped.
