Item Acquisition
Acquiring rare and useful items in Final Fantasy VIII Remastered can be done through various methods, including the Angelo Search ability and mugging specific enemies. The Steam version of the game offers an even faster way to earn items via Chocobo World, making Angelo Rush less necessary. Understanding enemy drops and mugging opportunities is key to optimizing your inventory.
If you have the Steam version of Final Fantasy VIII, Chocobo World is a far faster way of earning items than Angelo Rush. If you have access to Chocobo World, there’s no need to bother with Angelo Rush.
Angelo Search
Angelo Search requires Rinoa to be in your party and to have learned the Angelo Search ability. Once learned, you can run around, for example, on the highways of Esthar to find Turtapods. The Turtapod, when confused and in defensive mode, will sit and spin indefinitely, allowing for idle gains. After acquiring items, kill the Turtapod, save the game, and check your inventory.
