Unlike traditional RPGs, characters in Final Fantasy VIII don't equip different weapons. Instead, their existing weapons are upgraded at Junk Shops using specific materials. Each upgrade improves the weapon's Hit and Strength stats. Collecting the necessary components for each upgrade is a mini-quest in itself. Prioritize upgrading Squall's Gunblade for maximum damage output.
Upgrade Process:
- Find a Junk Shop (available in most towns).
- Select the character whose weapon you wish to upgrade.
- Provide the required materials (e.g., M-Stone Piece, Dragon Skin, Adamantine).
- The weapon's stats (Hit, Strength) will increase.
