Weapon Types & Selection

There are five weapon types in Genshin Impact, each with unique base stats and passive abilities:

• Swords: Balanced stats, often good for supports and sub-DPS.
• Claymores: High base ATK, slower attacks, good for Main DPS.
• Bows: Ranged attacks, good for aimed shots and elemental application.
• Catalysts: Elemental damage only, good for elemental reactions and healers.
• Polearms: Fast attacks, versatile for various roles.

When selecting a weapon, consider its base ATK, secondary stat (Crit Rate, Crit DMG, Energy Recharge, Elemental Mastery, ATK%, etc.), and its passive ability. A 4-star weapon with a good passive and secondary stat can often outperform a 5-star weapon with a mismatched passive.
