Character Specific Achievements
Ghost of Tsushima features several key characters whose personal stories are explored through dedicated questlines known as Tales. Completing these character-specific achievements requires Jin to see each of these allies through their individual struggles, offering unique insights into their past and their role in the fight against the Mongols.
These achievements are tied to completing all the quests associated with a particular character. By undertaking these tales, players not only unlock achievements but also gain a deeper understanding of the world and its inhabitants, enriching the overall narrative experience.
The main character-specific achievements are:
- 'The Warrior Monk' (Norio): This achievement is unlocked by completing all of Norio's Tales. Norio's quests often involve his journey as a warrior monk, dealing with his past and his spiritual path amidst the chaos of war.
- 'The Vengeful Warrior' (Masako): Awarded for completing all of Masako's Tales. Masako's story revolves around her quest for vengeance against those who betrayed her family, leading Jin through dangerous investigations and confrontations.
- 'The Unbending Archer' (Ishikawa): This achievement is earned by completing all of Ishikawa's Tales. Ishikawa's quests focus on his past as an archery master and his efforts to train new warriors while grappling with his own regrets.
- 'The Headstrong Thief' (Yuna): Unlocked by completing all of Yuna's Tales. Yuna's stories often involve her resourcefulness and her efforts to help Jin and the people of Tsushima, showcasing her resilience and cunning.
To obtain these achievements, players must locate and complete all the associated side quests for each character. These quests are marked on the map with white icons, often featuring the character's portrait. Completing these tales not only grants achievements but also provides valuable lore, experience points, and sometimes unique gear or combat techniques.
Beyond these, the 'Teller of Tales' achievement requires completing all Mythic Tales, which are legendary stories that often grant powerful combat techniques. The overarching 'Helping Sword Hand' achievement requires completing all Tales of Tsushima, encompassing all character tales and numerous smaller side quests.
