Fox Dens
The Fox Dens are a charming and rewarding collectible scattered throughout Tsushima in Ghost of Tsushima. Following the foxes to their dens leads Jin to Inari Shrines, which offer valuable rewards, including new charms and increased charm slots, crucial for enhancing Jin's combat and stealth capabilities.
These dens are typically found in serene, natural settings, often marked by the presence of a friendly fox. When Jin approaches, the fox will often beckon him to follow. You must then trail the fox through the environment, navigating terrain and avoiding detection if necessary, until it leads them to its shrine.
Upon reaching the Inari Shrine, Jin can interact with it to pray. The primary rewards for these prayers are:
- New Charms: Each Inari Shrine offers a unique Charm that provides a passive bonus. These can range from increasing Resolve gain to enhancing stealth or improving combat effectiveness.
- Increased Charm Slots: As Jin discovers more Inari Shrines, he will eventually unlock additional slots for equipping Charms. This allows for greater customization and the ability to combine more buffs simultaneously, significantly tailoring Jin's playstyle.
There are a total of 49 Inari Shrines to discover across Tsushima. Finding them all is necessary for certain achievements and for maximizing Jin's potential. The foxes act as natural guides, making the search for these shrines an engaging and peaceful aspect of exploration.
Tips for finding Fox Dens:
- Listen for the fox's call: Foxes often make distinct sounds that can help you locate them.
- Look for foxes near shrines: They are often found in the vicinity of Inari Shrines.
- Follow them patiently: The foxes will lead you directly to the shrine.
Collecting all the charms and maximizing charm slots through the Fox Dens is a key part of character progression in Ghost of Tsushima.
