Your arsenal in Ghost of Tsushima is comprised of both the honorable samurai katana and several cunning Ghost Weapons. Understanding and effectively using these items is key to overcoming the Mongol threat. Furthermore, various consumables and equipment can provide crucial support in the heat of battle.

Samurai Swordplay

Jin's katana is his primary weapon. Different stances are unlocked as you progress, each effective against specific enemy types. The Stone Stance is effective against spearmen, the Water Stance against shield-bearers, the Wind Stance against brutes, and the Moon Stance against swordsmen. Mastering the parry and dodge mechanics is essential for survival, allowing you to deflect attacks and create openings for counter-strikes.

Ghost Weapons

These tools allow Jin to fight like the Ghost, employing stealth and surprise.

• Kunai: Throwable daggers that can stagger enemies or deal direct damage. Excellent for interrupting attacks or initiating combat from a distance.
• Smoke Bombs: Create a cloud of smoke, disorienting enemies and allowing for quick escapes or assassinations. Essential for stealth and repositioning.
• Sticky Bombs: Explosive devices that deal significant damage to groups of enemies or heavily armored foes.
• Wind Chimes: Distract enemies, drawing their attention away from Jin and allowing for stealth takedowns.
• Caltrops: Deployed on the ground, these sharp objects damage and slow down enemies who walk over them.

Consumables & Charms

• Resolve Orbs: Found in the world or dropped by enemies, these replenish Jin's Resolve, allowing for healing or special abilities.
• Healing Items: While Resolve is the primary healing mechanic, certain items might be found or crafted to restore health directly.
• Charms: These equipable items offer passive bonuses, such as increased damage, faster Resolve gain, or enhanced stealth. They can be found in the world, earned through quests, or purchased.

Armor Sets

Different armor sets provide varying defensive bonuses and unique perks. For example, the Samurai Clan Armor offers increased defense and health, while the Ghost Armor enhances stealth and assassination capabilities. Upgrading your chosen armor at a blacksmith is crucial for maximizing its effectiveness.
