Jin's arsenal is crucial for his survival and effectiveness against the Mongol invasion. Understanding his weapons and techniques allows for a versatile and deadly combat approach. This guide covers the primary tools at Jin's disposal:

Swords

The katana is Jin's primary weapon. It can be upgraded at the Blacksmith using Supplies, Iron, Steel, and Gold. Fully upgrading your sword is essential for increasing your damage output and is required for the 'The Perfect Storm' achievement.

Bows

Bows are vital for ranged combat, stealth takedowns, and engaging enemies from a distance. There are two types:

  • Short Bow: Fires arrows rapidly, ideal for quick follow-up shots.
  • Longbow: Offers greater range and accuracy, suitable for precise headshots.

Bow upgrades can be purchased from Trapper vendors, increasing damage, draw speed, and zoom capabilities.

Ghost Weapon Techniques

Ghost Weapons are tools that allow Jin to employ stealth and unconventional tactics. They are unlocked by earning Technique Points through leveling up your Legend. All 6 Ghost Weapon techniques are required for the 'Every Trick in the Book' achievement.

  • Kunai: Thrown daggers that deal rapid damage.
  • Black Powder Bomb: An explosive device that deals area damage.
  • Sticky Bomb: A timed explosive that adheres to surfaces or enemies.
  • Wind Chime: Used to distract enemies, drawing them away from their posts.
  • Firecracker: Creates a loud noise to startle and disorient enemies. (Note: This is often found under the Wind Chime category in the menu).

Combat Techniques

Technique Points are also used to unlock and upgrade Jin's combat abilities, enhancing his swordplay and other skills. These include:

  • Stance Upgrades: Enhancing the effectiveness of Stone, Water, Wind, and Moon stances.
  • Parry and Dodge Skills: Improving the timing windows and effects of perfect parries and dodges.
  • Assassination Techniques: Unlocking new ways to perform stealth takedowns, such as Chain Assassinations.
  • Resolve Gain: Improving how quickly Jin gains Resolve, used for healing and special abilities.

By strategically upgrading and utilizing these weapons and techniques, Jin can adapt to any combat situation and become the Ghost of Tsushima.
