Dive into Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, the thrilling cooperative multiplayer experience. Learn about the core game modes, class system, and how to team up with friends to conquer new challenges.
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is a free expansion that transforms the single-player samurai epic into a cooperative online adventure. It introduces a new narrative, new game modes, and a unique class-based system that encourages teamwork and strategic play. Whether you're a seasoned warrior or new to Tsushima, understanding the basics of Legends Mode is key to enjoying its rich content and challenging gameplay.
Core Game Modes:
Legends Mode offers several ways to play, catering to different player preferences:
- Story Missions: These are cooperative, narrative-driven missions that expand upon the lore of Legends. They are designed for two players and feature challenging combat encounters and unique objectives.
- Survival: A wave-based survival mode where up to four players must defend a location against increasingly difficult waves of enemies. This mode tests your endurance, teamwork, and ability to manage resources.
- Raid: The ultimate cooperative challenge, designed for four players. Raids are multi-chapter, highly complex encounters that require extensive communication, coordination, and mastery of all game mechanics.
The Class System:
Legends Mode introduces four distinct playable classes, each with unique abilities, perks, and ultimate skills. These classes are:
- Samurai: A frontline warrior with strong defensive capabilities and powerful area-of-effect ultimate abilities. They excel at drawing enemy attention and surviving heavy damage.
- Hunter: A ranged specialist who excels at precision shots and crowd control. Their ultimate ability, Arrow Rain, can devastate groups of enemies.
- Ronin: A support class focused on healing and reviving allies. Their ultimate ability, Spirit Dog, can distract enemies and provide healing.
- Assassin: A stealthy damage dealer who excels at quickly eliminating high-priority targets. Their ultimate ability, Shadow Strike, allows for rapid, lethal takedowns.
You can switch between classes at any time outside of active missions, allowing for flexibility in team composition.
Progression and Gear:
Legends Mode features its own progression system separate from the single-player campaign. Players earn Gear XP and Ghost Flowers (currency) by completing missions. This XP is used to level up your gear, increasing its stats and unlocking new perks. Ghost Flowers can be used to purchase new Charms, cosmetics, and reroll gear stats.
Ki Level: Your character's overall power in Legends Mode is represented by their Ki Level, which is determined by the stats of your equipped armor and Charms. Higher Ki levels are required for higher-tier content.
How to Play:
- Matchmaking: You can use the matchmaking system to find random teammates for any mode.
- Private Lobby: You can invite friends directly to your lobby to play together.
- Starting a Game: Access Legends Mode from the main menu or by speaking to the Mysterious Merchant in Iki Island.
Legends Mode offers a fresh and exciting way to experience the world of Ghost of Tsushima, emphasizing cooperation and challenging players to master its unique mechanics.
