Legends Mode Gear
In Ghost of Tsushima's Legends mode, acquiring and optimizing gear is paramount to success, especially as you tackle higher difficulties and more challenging game modes. Legends introduces a distinct loot system with unique weapons, armor, and charms that significantly impact your character's effectiveness and playstyle. Understanding how to obtain and utilize this gear is key to becoming a formidable warrior.
Legends mode features four distinct classes: Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, and Assassin. Each class has access to unique abilities and benefits from specific types of gear. Gear is primarily obtained through completing various Legends missions, with better loot dropping from higher-difficulty encounters like Survival and Raids. Gyozen's Fortune is the in-game currency used to purchase items and reroll stats.
Types of Gear in Legends Mode:
- Weapons: Katanas, bows, and tanto blades are available, each with different stats and unique perks. Legendary weapons offer powerful, often build-defining, effects.
- Armor: Armor sets provide defensive bonuses and often come with set bonuses that grant additional perks when multiple pieces of the same set are worn. These can drastically alter your playstyle.
- Charms: Similar to the single-player game, charms offer passive buffs. Major and Minor charms provide varying degrees of enhancement to stats or abilities.
- Ghost Weapons: Kunai, smoke bombs, and other Ghost tools are essential for combat and can be upgraded with specific perks.
Acquiring and Upgrading Gear:
- Complete Missions: The primary method is by successfully finishing Story, Survival, and Raid missions. Higher difficulties yield better quality loot.
- Spend Gyozen's Fortune: Use the currency earned from missions to purchase specific gear pieces from Gyozen's shop or to reroll stats on existing items.
- Unlock Legendary Perks: Legendary gear often comes with locked perks that can be unlocked using Magatama, a rare currency. This allows for deep customization of your loadout.
- Increase Ki Level: Gear has a Ki level, which determines its overall power. Higher Ki levels require more resources to upgrade but offer significantly better stats.
The pursuit of optimal gear in Legends mode is an ongoing process, encouraging players to experiment with different combinations and master their chosen class to overcome the game's most demanding challenges.
