Sakai Clan Armor

The Sakai Clan Armor is a vital equipment piece in Ghost of Tsushima, essential for maximizing standoff capabilities and achieving specific feats. This armor is acquired during the story tale "Ghosts From the Past" in Act 2. Upgrading it is crucial for certain achievements.

To achieve the maximum of 5 kills during a standoff, you need two things:

  1. Upgrade Standoff Streak: This ability allows you to kill up to 3 people during a standoff and requires 2 skill points.
  2. Obtain and Fully Upgrade Sakai Clan Armor: When fully upgraded to Level VI (6), this armor allows you to kill an additional 2 people during a standoff.

Equipping the Sakai Clan Armor also provides a 25% chance of terrifying enemies, which is useful for controlling crowds. The armor is also linked to the Mythic Tale "The Legacy of Kazumasa Sakai," which starts near Zasho Bay. Completing this tale unlocks the 'Horse Armor Dye Merchant.' To get a dye from this merchant, you must find six Sakai Clan Banners and bring them to him southwest of Zasho Bay.
