Visiting these shrines is crucial for several reasons: they offer a moment of peace and reflection, contribute to your overall map completion, and most importantly, reward Jin with powerful Charms that provide passive bonuses to his combat and abilities.
Location and Appearance:
Shinto Shrines are typically found in serene, often elevated, and picturesque locations. They are easily identifiable by their distinctive red torii gates, which mark the entrance to the sacred grounds. You'll often see these gates from a distance as you explore the map.
The shrines themselves are usually small, simple structures, often with offerings or statues. They are designed to be peaceful havens, away from the chaos of war.
How to Find Them:
Finding Shinto Shrines is a key part of exploring the map. Here are some tips:
- Look for Torii Gates: The most obvious s is the bright red torii gate. Keep an eye out for these as you traverse the landscape.
- Use the Guiding Wind: Jin's Guiding Wind ability can be upgraded to point towards nearby collectibles, including Shinto Shrines. This is an invaluable tool for locating them efficiently.
- Climb to High Vantage Points: Climbing to the top of hills or mountains often gives you a better view of the surrounding area, allowing you to spot distant torii gates.
- Follow Paths: While some shrines are off the beaten path, many are located along existing trails or roads, making them easier to stumble upon during your travels.
- Map Icons: Once discovered, Shinto Shrines will be marked on your map with a specific icon (usually a torii gate symbol).
Interacting with the Shrine:
Upon reaching a Shinto Shrine, Jin will approach the altar. You will be prompted to offer a prayer. This action is what grants you the reward.
Rewards:
The primary reward for praying at a Shinto Shrine is a Charm. Each shrine offers a unique charm, and these charms provide significant passive buffs. Examples include:
- Charm of Resolve: Increases the rate at which Resolve is gained.
