Learn about Gran Turismo 7 Quick and Custom Races, including Sophy AI and how to earn up to 400% more credits.
Walkthrough
- 1Quick Race: Select this mode to immediately start a race on your chosen track with your selected car.
- 2Custom Race: This mode provides a sandbox experience where you can fully control:
- Race distance
- 3Starting position
- 4Fuel and tire use multipliers
- 5Realism settings (damage, off-track grip, penalties)
- 6Starting grids: Handcraft grids by choosing cars from your garage for each AI opponent. You can even name these AI opponents.
- 7Sophy AI (PS5 Only): If playing on PS5, Sophy AI is available on select tracks, offering stronger and more realistic CPU opponents.
- 8Earning Credits: While initial earnings are low, credits can be increased by up to 400% (x5 normal credits) via a Spec II update:
- +200% for Collector Level 50 or higher.
- 9+200% for completing track experience tests at each location.
- 10Grinding Strategy: Turn Custom Race into an effective grinding spot by:
- Setting up a low Performance Points (PP) car for yourself and higher PP cars for the AI.
- 11Changing your car's tires and/or parts before the race to ensure you can beat the AI.
- 12The payout is locked when the race is created, so winning with this setup yields a higher reward than a normal win.
- 13Race Length and Rewards: Setting up a custom race longer than an hour reduces the prize money ratio per lap or minute. A 24-hour custom race is possible but primarily for enjoyment rather than rewards.
Tips
- Experiment with Sophy AI on PS5 for a more challenging and realistic racing experience.
- To maximize credit grinding, ensure your car is capable of winning after setting up the AI opponents and race parameters.
- Be mindful that extremely long races (over an hour) offer diminishing returns on prize money per unit of time.
