Rampage Locations & Strategies

Rampages are timed challenges scattered across Liberty City, marked by a distinctive skull icon on your map. Activating one will task you with eliminating a specific number of gang members or destroying vehicles within a strict time limit, often with a particular weapon. Successfully completing a Rampage rewards you with cash and contributes to your 100% completion.

Before attempting any Rampage, ensure you're well-prepared. Stock up on body armor and a good supply of ammunition for the designated weapon. If the Rampage requires a specific vehicle, try to have one nearby or know where to quickly acquire it. Always aim for headshots to conserve ammo and maximize damage. Don't be afraid to restart if things go south – practice makes perfect!

Rampage 1: Dukes - East Holland

• Location: Directly south of the East Holland safehouse, near the basketball courts.
• Objective: Eliminate 25 Triads with a Pistol.
• Strategy:
  1. Before starting, ensure you have full Pistol ammo and body armor.
  2. Activate the Rampage. Triads will spawn in groups around the basketball courts and the surrounding alleyways.
  3. use the cover provided by the court walls and nearby dumpsters. Pop out, take a few shots, and duck back in.
  4. Prioritize headshots to quickly dispatch enemies. The Pistol is accurate, so take your time with each shot.
  5. If you get overwhelmed, retreat slightly to create distance and pick off enemies as they pursue.
  6. Keep an eye on your radar for incoming enemies.

Rampage 2: Bohan - Northern Gardens

• Location: On the northern edge of Northern Gardens, just west of the bridge leading to Dukes. It's in a small park area.
• Objective: Destroy 10 vehicles with a Grenade Launcher.
• Strategy:
  1. This Rampage is all about explosive power. Make sure you have a Grenade Launcher and a healthy supply of grenades. If you don't have one, check Ammu-Nation or a nearby weapon stash.
  2. Activate the Rampage. Vehicles (mostly cars and vans) will start spawning and driving through the park and adjacent streets.
  3. Position yourself in the middle of the park, offering good sightlines to the surrounding roads.
  4. Aim your grenades to land directly on or very close to the target vehicles. One direct hit is usually enough to destroy a car.
  5. Be mindful of your own proximity to explosions. You can take significant damage from your own grenades.
  6. If a vehicle is stationary, take your time to line up a perfect shot. For moving targets, lead your shots slightly.
  7. Don't waste time chasing after vehicles that are too far away. Wait for new ones to spawn closer.

Rampage 3: Algonquin - Middle Park East

• Location: In the southeastern corner of Middle Park East, near the large fountain.
• Objective: Eliminate 30 Gangsters with a Shotgun.
• Strategy:
  1. The Shotgun is devastating at close range. Ensure you have plenty of shells and body armor.
  2. Activate the Rampage. Gangsters will appear from all directions within the park.
  3. Stay mobile. The park offers open spaces, but also trees and benches for limited cover.
  4. Engage enemies at close to medium range for maximum Shotgun effectiveness. One or two well-placed shots should take down most targets.
  5. If enemies are too far, try to close the distance or switch to a secondary weapon if you're comfortable, though the objective is Shotgun kills.
  6. Watch for groups of enemies. The Shotgun's spread can hit multiple targets if they're clustered together.
  7. Be aware of pedestrians and police. You don't want to attract unwanted attention and waste precious time.

General Tips for All Rampages:

• Know Your Weapon: Each Rampage specifies a weapon. Understand its strengths and weaknesses (range, fire rate, damage) before you begin.
• Body Armor is Key: Always start with full body armor. It can be the difference between success and failure.
• Minimap Awareness: Keep a constant eye on your minimap. Red dots indicate enemies, allowing you to anticipate their movements.
• Headshots: For weapon-based Rampages, headshots are crucial for efficient enemy elimination and ammo conservation.
• Vehicle Spawns: For vehicle destruction Rampages, learn the common vehicle spawn points in the area to maximize your efficiency.
• Practice: Don't get discouraged if you fail. Learn from your mistakes, adjust your strategy, and try again.
• Save Before Attempting: Always save your game before starting a Rampage. This allows you to retry without losing progress or resources.
