In the dangerous streets of Liberty City, knowing how to properly manage your save games is crucial. Whether you're trying to escape a botched mission, experiment with different strategies, or simply preserve your progress, understanding the save mechanics will be your best friend. Unlike some other GTA titles, Liberty City Stories utilizes specific save points rather than an autosave feature for mission progress, making manual saving paramount.

Saving Your Game

To save your game in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, you must locate and enter one of Toni Cipriani's safehouses. These safehouses are marked on your radar and map with a distinctive house icon. Once inside, approach the glowing pink floppy disk icon to initiate the save process.

Location of First Safehouse: Your initial safehouse is located in Saint Mark's, Portland Island. It becomes available very early in the game, essentially after the introductory missions.
Subsequent Safehouses: As you progress through the storyline and unlock new islands (Staunton Island and Shoreside Vale), additional safehouses will become available for purchase or will be granted to you. Always keep an eye on your map for new house icons.
