Property & Safehouses
In Vice City Stories, your safehouses are more than just places to save your game; they're vital hubs for resupplying, changing outfits, and storing vehicles. As you progress, you'll unlock or purchase various properties, each offering unique advantages across Vice City.
Understanding Safehouse Features
Every safehouse provides essential services to Victor Vance:
- Saving Your Game: Step into the spinning floppy disk icon to save your progress. This is crucial after completing missions or significant activities.
- Wardrobe: Access your collected outfits here. Changing clothes can sometimes help reduce wanted levels if you're not actively being pursued by law enforcement.
- Vehicle Storage: Most safehouses come with a garage where you can store up to two vehicles. This is invaluable for keeping rare or customized cars safe from despawning.
- Health and Armor Pickups: Many safehouses will have a health heart and/or body armor vest available, regenerating after a short period, allowing you to top up before heading out.
- Weapon Pickups: Some safehouses, particularly those acquired later or through specific missions, may offer free weapon pickups.
Starting Safehouse: The Barracks
Your initial safehouse is located within the military barracks on the southern end of Vice City Beach. This is your base of operations during the early stages of the game.
- Location: Vice City Beach, within the military base.
- Features: Basic save point, wardrobe, and a small garage. Limited in its offerings but essential for early game progression.
- Strategy: Utilize this safehouse extensively in the beginning. Its proximity to early missions makes it convenient for quick saves and health top-ups. Be mindful of military presence when entering and exiting, especially if you have a wanted level.
Acquiring New Safehouses
As you advance through the storyline, particularly after completing missions for characters like Marty Jay Williams, you'll gain access to new safehouses. Some are automatically unlocked, while others require a purchase.
Specific Purchasable Safehouses:
Keep an eye out for properties marked with a green house icon on your radar. Drive into the icon to initiate the purchase.
| Property Name | Location | Cost | Key Features | Acquisition Strategy |

| Apartment 3C | Ocean Beach, Vice City Beach | $4,000 | Save Point, Wardrobe, Garage, Health Pickup | A great upgrade from the barracks, offering a health pickup. Ideal for missions in Ocean Beach. |
| Hyman Condo | Downtown, Mainland | $6,000 | Save Point, Wardrobe, Large Garage (multiple vehicles), Health & Armor Pickups, Rooftop Access | A premium safehouse. The large garage and dual pickups make this an excellent mid-to-late game investment. Its central location is also a major plus. |
| Prawn Island Mansion | Prawn Island | $10,000 | Save Point, Wardrobe, Multiple Garages, Health & Armor Pickups, Weapon Spawns (e.g., Shotgun, M4) | The most expensive and luxurious safehouse. Essential for 100% completion and provides top-tier amenities, including powerful weapon spawns. Prioritize this once funds allow. |
Maximizing Your Safehouses
- Strategic Saving: Always save your game before attempting challenging missions or after completing a significant objective. Don't rely solely on auto-saves.
- Vehicle Management: Use garages to store vehicles you want to keep, especially unique or high-performance cars. Remember, only two vehicles can be stored per garage.
- Outfit Changes: Experiment with different outfits. While primarily cosmetic, they add to the immersion and can be a fun way to customize Victor.
- Health and Armor: Before embarking on a mission, always visit your nearest safehouse to grab health and armor. This can be the difference between success and failure.
- Weapon Stockpiling: Once you acquire safehouses with weapon spawns, make it a habit to collect them regularly. This saves money on ammunition and ensures you're always well-armed.
By strategically utilizing and expanding your property portfolio, you'll gain significant advantages, making your journey through Vice City much smoother and more enjoyable.
