This section details where to find various weapons, from basic melee tools to devastating firearms, often for free! Knowing these locations can give you a significant advantage in missions and general mayhem.
Melee Weapons
Melee weapons are your first line of defense and excellent for stealthy takedowns or when you're low on ammo.
- Brass Knuckles:
- Location 1 (Ocean Beach): Head to the alleyway directly behind the "Greasy Chopper" biker bar. You'll find them lying on the ground near some dumpsters.
- Location 2 (Vice Point): Look for them near the entrance of the "North Point Mall," specifically by the large "Malibu Club" billboard.
- Screwdriver:
- Location (Downtown): Check the construction site in Downtown. They are often found on the lower levels, sometimes near toolboxes or scaffolding.
- Hammer:
- Location (Little Havana): Search the small hardware store in Little Havana, often found on a shelf inside or just outside the entrance.
- Machete:
- Location (Leaf Links Golf Course): This deadly blade can be found near the maintenance sheds on the Leaf Links Golf Course. Be wary of security!
- Katana:
- Location (Vice Point): Behind the "Pizza This" restaurant in Vice Point, there's an alley where the Katana frequently spawns.
Pistols
Reliable and common, pistols are good for early-game engagements and as a backup weapon.
- Colt .45 (Pistol):
- Location 1 (Ocean Beach): On the roof of the "Ocean View Hotel," accessible via the stairs on the side.
- Location 2 (Washington Beach): Inside the multi-story parking garage near the police station. Check the upper levels.
- .357 (Python):
- Location (Starfish Island): On the grounds of the large mansion on Starfish Island (the one you eventually acquire). It's often found near the pool area or in the backyard.
Shotguns
Devastating at close range, shotguns are excellent for clearing out tight spaces.
- Shotgun:
- Location 1 (Vice Point): Near the lifeguard stands on Vice Point beach.
- Location 2 (Little Haiti): Inside the "Print Works" building once you own it, or sometimes found in the alley behind it.
- Stubby Shotgun (S.P.A.S. 12):
- Location (Downtown): On the rooftop of the "Hyman Memorial Stadium." You'll need to find a way to get up there, often involving a vehicle jump or careful platforming.
Submachine Guns (SMGs)
High rate of fire, perfect for taking down multiple enemies quickly.
- Tec-9:
- Location (Ocean Beach): In the alleyway behind the "Malibu Club" in Ocean Beach, often near a dumpster.
- Uzi 9mm:
- Location (Little Havana): In the backyard of the "Cherry Popper Ice Cream Factory" (before you acquire it). Look near the back entrance.
- MP5:
- Location (Downtown): Underneath the bridge connecting Downtown to Prawn Island. You'll need to drive or swim to access this area.
