Zote is a boastful, self-proclaimed knight you'll first encounter trapped in the Forgotten Crossroads. Rescuing him is optional, but doing so allows him to appear in Dirtmouth and later in the Colosseum of Fools. If you rescue him and defeat him in the Colosseum, he will eventually move into Bretta's house, leading to the optional boss fight Zote the Grey Prince (in Bretta's dream realm) if you have the Dream Nail.
