Welcome, fellow Human, to the most comprehensive guide for navigating the mind-bending contraptions and physics-defying challenges in Human: Fall Flat! This section dives deep into specific level puzzles, offering actionable walkthroughs, item locations, and strategic insights to help you conquer even the most frustrating obstacles. Remember, creativity and a little bit of chaos are your best friends in this game!
Mansion: The Grand Piano Puzzle
The Mansion level introduces players to a delightful, yet tricky, musical interlude. Your goal is to open the ornate double doors leading to the next area, which are locked by a mechanism tied to the grand piano.
Objective: Activate the Piano Mechanism
- Locate the Grand Piano: Upon entering the main hall of the Mansion, the Grand Piano is prominently displayed in the center, near the large, locked double doors.
- Find the Piano Stool: The Piano Stool is usually found directly in front of the Grand Piano. If it's not there, check the immediate vicinity; it sometimes gets nudged slightly.
- Position the Stool: Grab the Piano Stool with both hands (LMB/RMB on PC, L2/R2 on PlayStation, ZL/ZR on Switch) and carefully maneuver it so it's directly in front of the piano keys.
- Climb onto the Stool: Walk your Human up to the stool and jump (Spacebar on PC, X on PlayStation, B on Switch) to get on top of it.
- Reach the Keys: Once on the stool, stretch your Human's arms upwards towards the piano keys. You'll need to grab onto the keys themselves.
- Play the Melody (or just make noise): With your Human's hands on the keys, simply flail your arms around. The game doesn't require a specific melody; any interaction that depresses the keys will activate the mechanism. You'll hear a distinct "clunk" sound, and the double doors will unlock.
Strategy Tip: If you're struggling to get your Human to stay on the stool or reach the keys, try using the "wobble" mechanic (rocking your Human back and forth) to gain momentum for a better jump or stretch.
Castle: The Catapult Challenge
The Castle level presents a formidable obstacle in the form of a large gap that can only be traversed using a medieval catapult. This puzzle requires precise timing and coordination, especially in co-op.
Objective: Launch Across the Gap
- Locate the Catapult: After navigating through the initial castle corridors, you'll arrive at a large courtyard with a significant chasm. The Catapult is situated on your side of the chasm, facing the distant platform.
- Find the Counterweight: To the immediate left or right of the Catapult (depending on your approach), you'll see a large, heavy stone block. This is the Counterweight.
- Load the Catapult:
- Solo Play: This is trickier. Grab the Counterweight with both hands and drag it towards the Catapult's arm. You need to position it so that when you let go, it pulls the arm down. Then, quickly run and jump onto the Catapult's bucket before the arm swings up. This often requires several attempts.
- Co-op Play (Recommended): One player (the "Launcher") should grab the Counterweight and hold it firmly. The other player (the "Flyer") should climb into the Catapult's bucket.
- Initiate the Launch:
- Solo Play: Once you're in the bucket and the Counterweight is positioned, let go of the Counterweight and immediately brace yourself.
- Co-op Play: The Launcher, on a count or signal, should release the Counterweight.
- Mid-Air Adjustment (Flyer): As you're launched, you can sometimes slightly adjust your trajectory by flailing your arms. Aim for the landing platform on the other side.
Strategy Tip: In co-op, communication is key. A simple "3, 2, 1, launch!" can significantly improve your success rate. If the Flyer overshoots or undershoots, try adjusting the initial position of the Counterweight slightly closer or further from the Catapult's pivot point.
Water: The Submarine Lever System
The Water level introduces underwater exploration and a complex lever system to raise a submerged submarine. This puzzle requires understanding the mechanics of buoyancy and leverage.
Objective: Raise the Submarine
- Locate the Submarine and Levers: After swimming through the initial underwater sections, you'll find a large, red Submarine partially submerged. Nearby, on a platform or within a small control room, you'll see a series of Levers. There are typically three distinct Levers, each controlling a different part of the submarine's buoyancy.
- Identify Lever Functions:
- Lever 1 (Front Buoyancy): Often located closer to the front of the submarine, this lever controls the front ballast tanks. Pulling it down will make the front of the submarine rise.
- Lever 2 (Rear Buoyancy): Usually found towards the back, this lever controls the rear ballast tanks. Pulling it down will make the rear of the submarine rise.
- Lever 3 (Main Lift/Pump): This central lever typically initiates a main pump or lift mechanism, but it only works effectively when the submarine is relatively level.
- Level the Submarine: Your primary goal is to get the Submarine as level as possible in the water.
- Start by pulling down Lever 1 and Lever 2 simultaneously (if in co-op) or by alternating between them in solo play, observing how the submarine reacts.
- Adjust the levers until the submarine appears mostly flat on the water's surface, or at least not heavily tilted forward or backward.
- Activate the Main Lift: Once the submarine is reasonably level, pull down Lever 3. This should activate the main lifting mechanism, causing the entire submarine to rise out of the water, revealing the path forward.
Strategy Tip: In solo play, you can sometimes "lock" a lever in place by grabbing it and then quickly letting go while it's in the desired position, allowing you to move to another lever. However, this can be finicky. In co-op, assign one player to each of the buoyancy levers (Lever 1 and 2) and a third player (or one of the first two after leveling) to the main lift lever (Lever 3).
