Read the author's notes on the development and updates for the Kirby and the Forgotten Land guide, including version history and future plans.

Version 0.1 - April 30, 2022

This initial version covered basic controls and Copy Abilities, based on Kirby and the Forgotten Land Version 1.0. The author aimed to cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) essentials quickly and noted that the formatting was a work in progress. Speedrun technology was still intact at this time.

Version 0.2 - May 8, 2022

This update added enemy (NE) coverage and statistics. The author highlighted the simple statistic icons for Power and Rapid-Fire abilities. While the first two worlds needed cleanup, the author found joy in replaying the game. Enemy variety, such as Awoofies, Hot Heads, and Chilly, was noted as a strength of the game, contributing to varied encounters despite a smaller range of Copy Abilities compared to other games like Devil May Cry or Zelda.

Version 0.8 - May 15, 2022

This version covered a new world and included minor updates. The author had completed the main campaign and tidied up, with more content planned. Specifics not yet covered included blueprint details, the full collection of 232 figures, evolutions, Mouthful Modes, the post-game (author was at 75%), Waddle Dee Town content beyond tournaments and codes, and speedrunning techniques beyond Hammer High Jump and Slide/Jump loops. Image attribution was provided, with images 1-30 from the Kirby 30th Anniversary and 31-93 from Kirby and the Forgotten Land's websites.

Version 1.0 - May 31, 2022

This version covered a new world and the post-game, and added the Bandana Waddle Dee moveset. The author replayed the game from start to finish using Spring-Breeze mode as a basis for rewriting the guide. The main save file was at 93% completion and a secondary save at 56%. Glitches and additional movesets were considered but deferred in favor of more essential information, from the first Waddle Dee to the last.

Author's Thoughts

• The author prefers the Power Paintbrush ability but is open to re-evaluating after more post-game content in Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
• The author found the statistic icons for Power and Rapid-Fire abilities notable.
• The author believes Kirby and the Forgotten Land managed well with a smaller range of Copy Abilities due to varied encounters.
• The author considered using specific Unicode characters for formatting but opted against them due to readability issues across different browsers and devices.
• The author plans to return to the guide for further updates and content.
• The author encourages players to tidy their emails.
