He utilizes a combination of a minigun and deployable energy shields, making him a dangerous foe in open combat. Vanguard has a substantial health pool of roughly 2000 HP and a very high resistance to all ballistic damage. His primary threat comes from his minigun, which can shred the player's health bar in seconds if not managed carefully. He also deploys "Aegis Shields," which absorb a significant amount of incoming damage.

The arena for this fight is a large, open plaza within the Corporate Headquarters, with minimal cover. The key to defeating Vanguard lies in exploiting the brief moments when his shields are down or when he is reloading his minigun.
