First Steps: Character Creation

Before beginning your journey in Eterra, you select one of five Classes: Mage, Sentinel, Acolyte, Primalist, or Rogue. Early in the Campaign, you choose one of three Masteries. You can respec your Mastery choice later if needed.

You can invest points into the bottom half of all other Masteries within your chosen Class, allowing for diverse ability exploration and character tweaking even with a fixed Mastery choice. Each Mastery grants access to a unique signature Skill, such as the Sorcerer's Meteor Skill. Choose carefully.

Game Modes and Challenges

Last Epoch offers various game modes and challenges to tailor your experience:

  • Normal: No experience penalty on death.
  • Hardcore: Introduces permadeath. Characters who die are moved to the Normal realm and cannot compete on the Hardcore Ladder.

Challenges provide additional ways to play:

  • Solo Account Found: For solo players, your Stash and Crafting Materials are shared across all your characters.
  • Solo Character Found: For solo players seeking a fresh start with a single character. Begin with an empty Stash, no Crafting Materials, and no Gold. This mode is often used for fair races and tournaments.
