Player Card Tiers
Player cards are the most fundamental item in MUT. They represent individual NFL players and come in various tiers, indicating their overall rating and rarity:
- Bronze/Silver/Gold: Basic cards, typically used for early team building, sets, or as training fodder.
- Elite: High-rated current NFL players, forming the backbone of most competitive teams.
- Legends: Iconic retired NFL players, often with very high ratings and unique abilities.
- Program Cards: Special edition cards released as part of ongoing MUT programs (e.g., Team of the Week, Ultimate Freeze, Ultimate Legends). These often have boosted stats and unique artwork.
- Limited Edition (LTD): Extremely rare versions of program cards, available for a short time, often with slightly higher stats or unique ability slots.
Each player card has an OVR, individual attributes, and may have 'Ability Slots' where you can equip X-Factor or Superstar Abilities.
Power Up Cards
Many key players also have 'Power Up' cards. These are special cards that can be upgraded through multiple tiers by spending 'Training' (a currency obtained by quick-selling unwanted cards) and adding specific versions of that player's card. A fully powered-up player often has higher stats and more ability slots than their base elite card, making them a cornerstone of many MUT teams.
- Objective: Acquire high-tier player cards and power them up.
- Strategy: Use the Auction House to target specific players. Invest in Power Up cards for your favorite players to maximize their potential.
- Reward: Stronger roster, access to powerful abilities.
