The NFL Draft
Your performance at the Combine and your chosen position will determine where you're drafted. Higher draft picks generally go to teams with greater needs at your position and offer more immediate playing time. The draft is a cinematic experience, culminating in your name being called and joining your first NFL team. This is a pivotal moment, as your team's scheme and roster will shape your early career.
Rookie Mini-Camp & Training Camp
Once drafted, you'll immediately enter rookie mini-camp and then full training camp. These periods are crucial for earning your starting spot. You'll participate in practice drills, compete in positional battles, and play in pre-season games. Your performance in these activities directly impacts your coach's trust and your depth chart position. Consistently achieving high grades in practice and making impactful plays in games will solidify your role.
- Objective: Earn a starting role on your team.
- Strategy: Focus on completing coach goals during practice. In pre-season games, prioritize making smart plays over highlight reels. Avoid turnovers and missed assignments.
- Reward: Starting position, increased playing time, faster XP gain.
First Regular Season Games
Your rookie season begins! Each game presents specific challenges and coach goals. Successfully completing these goals earns you XP, which you can use to upgrade your player's attributes and unlock new abilities. Pay attention to your weekly goals, as they often align with your team's game plan and offer bonus XP. Your performance will also influence your 'Cred' and 'Rep' ratings, which unlock endorsements and social media interactions.
- Objective: Win games, complete coach goals, earn XP.
- Strategy: Learn your team's playbook. Focus on your individual assignments. If you're a QB, prioritize accuracy and avoiding sacks. If you're a RB, look for open lanes and protect the ball. If you're a CB, stick to your assignment and don't gamble too much.
- Reward: XP for upgrades, Cred/Rep for endorsements, team success.
