How to Unlock Mirror Mode

Alright, so you're looking to unlock Mirror Mode in Mario Kart World? It's not something you get right away, but it's totally doable if you stick with it! Think of it as a reward for really getting into the game. Here's the rundown of everything you need to accomplish:

Mirror Mode Unlock Requirements:

• You've gotta complete all eight Grand Prix tournaments at 150cc.
• You also need to finish all eight Knockout Tours at 150cc.
• Knock out 10 P Switch Challenge Missions.
• Grab 10 Peach Medallions.
• Find and activate 10 ? Panels.
• Finish the Special Cup and watch the Credits roll.

That might seem like a lot, but let's break it down. You'll be playing a good chunk of the game, which is awesome!

Grand Prix Tournaments and Knockout Tours

This is where you'll spend a good chunk of your time, diving into the single-player modes. There are eight Grand Prix tournaments and eight Knockout Tours to tackle. Don't worry about winning them all, but you do need to complete them. The CPU can be pretty smart and will adapt to how you play, so keep that in mind, especially in Knockout Tour. For Knockout Tour, you need to finish at least fourth in each rally. A little tip that might get patched later: sometimes not drifting at all can trick the CPU into letting you place higher. It's an exploit, so use it while you can!

P Switch Challenge Missions

You'll see these big P Switches scattered all over the Free Roam world. There are a ton of them – over 394! Don't stress if you get stuck on one; just move on and find another. If you're really stuck, our interactive map can show you where all 394 are located. You just need to complete 10 of them to move forward.

Peach Medallions

These are another type of collectible you'll find in Free Roam, a bit rarer than the P Switches (around 165+ total) and often in trickier spots. But hey, you only need 10 for Mirror Mode! Our interactive map is your best friend here too.

? Panels

These are the big yellow ? panels you drive over. The good news is, the game keeps track of these for you. You'll find them on the circuits, and most have at least five panels. Again, our interactive map has the locations for all of them.

Special Cup

This is a sneaky one! You might think you're done after all the other requirements, but you absolutely need to complete the Special Cup and see the Credits screen. That's the final trigger for unlocking Mirror Mode. So, one last race in the Special Cup, and you'll get that congratulatory notification!

Accessing Mirror Mode in Free Roam

Once you've met all those requirements and unlocked Mirror Mode for single-player, you can even use it in Free Roam! Here’s how:

1. Make sure you've unlocked Mirror Mode as described above.
2. Head into Free Roam and select Peach Stadium.
3. Drive forward and take a left, following the track until you see a green pipe.
4. Just to the right of the green pipe, drop down onto the roof of the stadium.
5. Go forward a bit, then turn left. You'll see a massive window with Peach on it.
6. Drive through that window, and you'll enter Free Roam's Mirror Mode!

To exit Mirror Mode, just drive through the window again, or exit and re-enter Free Roam.
