Paragon & Renegade System — Mass Effect 2 Guide

The Paragon and Renegade system in Mass Effect 2 allows players to shape Commander Shepard's morality through dialogue choices and actions, influencing both short-term interactions and long-term consequences. Making choices that align with either Paragon (diplomatic, compassionate) or Renegade (aggressive, ruthless) paths will unlock specific dialogue options and impact how other characters perceive and react to Shepard.

Citadel: The Krogan Sushi

This assignment begins after overhearing a conversation between two Krogans near the Citadel Souvenirs shop. The assignment will be automatically added to your mission log.

To continue, travel to the Presidium and speak with the groundskeeper. Ask about fish in the Presidium ponds.

After getting the information, return to the Krogans you overheard previously and start a conversation. Inform them about what the gardener told you to complete the side-mission.

Citadel: Crime in Progress

This side-mission is located on the western side of the Citadel, near the entrance to the Warehouse area visited during Garrus’s loyalty mission. A C-Sec officer and a Volus are accusing a Quarian of stealing.

To begin, get involved in the conversation to understand the situation and offer to help. After leaving the conversation, head to the nearby store Saronis Applications and speak with the man behind the counter. Ask about the Volus’s credit chit to learn it is in the store.

Return to the conversation and inform them where the chit can be found. This will end the side-quest, and during the ensuing conversation, you can choose dialogue options to increase Paragon/Renegade points.
