CQC is a powerful and versatile combat system taught to Snake by The Boss. It allows for non-lethal takedowns, interrogations, and even human shields. To initiate CQC, approach an enemy from behind or to their side and press the Circle button (PlayStation) / B button (Xbox). Once an enemy is in a CQC hold, you have several options:

  • Chokehold: Repeatedly tap the CQC button to choke them unconscious.
  • Interrogation: Hold the CQC button and then press the Left Analog Stick in a direction to interrogate them for intel (e.g., enemy positions, item locations).
  • Throw: Flick the Left Analog Stick in a direction while holding the CQC button to throw them, knocking them out or stunning them.
  • Human Shield: Simply hold the CQC button to use them as a shield against other enemies.
Mastering CQC is essential for stealthy approaches and conserving ammunition. Practice these techniques early on to become proficient.
