Congratulations, bounty hunter! You've navigated the treacherous Biologic Space Laboratories (B.S.L.) research station, overcome countless X-Parasite threats, and finally confronted the terrifying SA-X. But the journey isn't truly over until you understand the implications of your actions and what rewards await you for your dedication.The Final Confrontation and Escape
After defeating the Omega Metroid, the station is on a collision course with SR388. Your final objective is to escape before the B.S.L. station detonates. This is a timed sequence, so every second counts!
- Omega Metroid Aftermath: Once the Omega Metroid is defeated, Samus will be heavily damaged. The SA-X will appear, sacrificing itself to restore Samus's full power, including the Ice Beam.
- Initiate Self-Destruct: The computer will inform you of the station's imminent destruction. You have approximately 3 minutes to reach your ship.
- Ascend to the Hangar:
- From the Omega Metroid's chamber, head left and use your newly restored Ice Beam to freeze any X-Parasites or environmental obstacles.
- Proceed through the familiar corridors, moving upwards and to the left.
- use your Screw Attack and Space Jump to bypass enemies and navigate quickly through previously explored areas. Don't stop to fight unless absolutely necessary.
- Your path will generally lead you back through Sector 5 (FUSION) and then to the Main Deck.
- Reach the Navigation Room: Your ship is docked in the main hangar, accessible from the Navigation Room on the Main Deck. Follow the on-screen indicators and your map for the most direct route.
- Board Your Ship: Once you reach your ship, a final cutscene will play, concluding the game.
Completion Bonuses & Unlockables
Metroid Fusion offers various endings based on your completion time and item collection percentage. Achieving certain criteria will unlock different images during the credits sequence. There are a total of 10 different ending images to discover!
Ending Criteria:
The game tracks your completion time and the percentage of items (Energy Tanks, Missile Expansions, Power Bomb Expansions) collected. To achieve the best endings, you'll want to aim for a high item percentage and a fast time.
- 100% Item Collection: This is crucial for unlocking the most detailed and iconic ending images. Dedicate time to backtracking and using your full suite of abilities (Power Bombs, Screw Attack, Space Jump, Speed Booster/Shinespark) to uncover every hidden expansion.
- Completion Time Tiers:
- Under 2 Hours: This is the most challenging time to achieve and typically unlocks the best ending images, especially when combined with 100% item collection.
- 2-4 Hours: A respectable time that can still yield excellent endings with high item percentages.
- 4-8 Hours: A common completion time for a first playthrough, offering good endings with decent item collection.
- Over 8 Hours: While still completing the game, these times generally result in less detailed ending images.
Tips for 100% Item Collection & Speedrunning:
- Map Awareness: Constantly check your map for unexplored rooms or areas with item icons.
- Hidden Blocks: Use your Power Bombs liberally in suspicious areas, especially dead ends or rooms with odd layouts. Shoot every block!
- Shinespark Mastery: Learning to Shinespark effectively is vital for both speed and reaching many hidden items. Practice the technique of charging a Speed Booster, then pressing down to store the charge, and finally releasing it in a specific direction.
- Sequence Breaking (Advanced): While not strictly necessary for 100% or good endings, experienced You can use minor sequence breaks to save time. Consult advanced guides for these techniques.
- Save Frequently: Save your game often, especially before attempting difficult platforming or boss fights, to minimize lost time from deaths.
- Minimize Damage: Taking less damage means less time spent recovering or dying, which contributes to a faster overall time.

For players who own a Game Boy Advance link cable and a copy of Metroid Prime on the Nintendo GameCube, there's an exclusive unlockable:
