The Brachydios is a High Rank monster that commands respect with its volatile nature. This imposing wyvern's sature attack involves coating its horns and fists in a potent slime that, when struck, detonates with explosive force. This slime can also be left on the ground, creating hazardous traps for hunters. Understanding the Brachydios's attack cycle is crucial: it will often charge up its slime, indicated by a glowing effect, before unleashing devastating attacks. Its movements are aggressive and relentless, making evasion and precise counter-attacks essential. Breaking its horns is a primary objective, as this significantly reduces the potency and frequency of its slime-based attacks. Be prepared for its powerful charges, sweeping tail attacks, and explosive bursts.

Avoid the Slime: The most critical aspect of fighting Brachydios is avoiding its slime. Both the slime on its body and the slime it leaves on the ground will detonate. If you get slimed, roll repeatedly to remove it.
Target the Head and Horns: The Brachydios's head and horns are its weak points. Focus your attacks here to break them, which will significantly reduce its explosive capabilities.
Watch for Charges: Brachydios's charges are fast and powerful. Learn its tells, such as rearing back or its slime glowing intensely, and dodge to the side. Sonic Pods can interrupt some of its charges.
Exploit Openings: After it completes a powerful attack, such as a multi-hit combo or a large explosion, there will be brief openings to land damage.
Mind the Environment: Be aware of your surroundings. Brachydios can destroy parts of the environment, creating new hazards.
