Savage Deviljho: The Apex Predator's Fury Unleashed
The Savage Deviljho represents an even more ferocious and aggressive iteration of the already formidable Deviljho. This colossal pickle-shaped brute wyvern is a force of nature, driven by an insatiable hunger and an unparalleled capacity for destruction. Encountering a Savage Deviljho is a true test of a hunter's skill and resilience.
Savage Deviljho primarily appears in the Guiding Lands, often as an invader or during specific investigations. It can also be encountered in certain high-rank quests and events. Its presence is usually saled by its distinctive, guttural roars and the sheer devastation it leaves in its wake. Be prepared for an intense battle when this monster enters the arena.
Combat Strategy
The Savage Deviljho's attacks are characterized by their immense power and speed. It wields its massive jaws with devastating effect, capable of inflicting massive damage with bites, lunges, and tail sweeps. Its sature move is its Dragon Breath, a concentrated beam of dragon energy that can melt hunters. This attack is telegraphed by its head glowing with draconic energy, so be ready to dodge.
When enraged, the Savage Deviljho's chest will glow, and it will gain access to even more devastating attacks, including a powerful charge that can cover significant distances. Its weakness lies in its head and chest when not enraged. However, its sheer aggression makes targeting these areas challenging. Breaking its tail can be a priority, as it can limit its reach. The Savage Deviljho is particularly vulnerable to Dragon element damage. While it has a moderate resistance to most other elements, Dragon is its Achilles' heel. Its raw attack power is immense, making defensive skills and careful positioning crucial.
Recommended Gear and Items
- Armor: Prioritize armor with high defense and skills that boost your offensive capabilities. Health Boost is almost mandatory for surviving its onslaught. Skills like Attack Boost, Weakness Exploit, and Critical Eye will significantly increase your damage output. For blademasters, Guard and Guard Up can be invaluable if you plan to block its attacks.
- Weapons: Dragon element weapons are your top choice. If you don't have a strong Dragon weapon, focus on weapons with high raw damage and good sharpness. Consider weapons that can inflict Stun or Paralysis, as these status effects can create brief openings.
- Items: Bring Nulberries to cure Dragonblight, which it can inflict. Adamant Seeds can boost your defense, and Demondrugs for attack. Flash Pods can be used to interrupt some of its attacks, but be cautious as it can quickly recover. Health Potions and Mega Potions are, as always, essential.
Quest Tips
The Savage Deviljho is often found in areas with plenty of open space, which can be both a blessing and a curse. Use the environment to your advantage, but be aware that its charges can cover large distances. If you're struggling with its Dragon Breath, try to position yourself behind large obstacles. Breaking its horns can sometimes reduce the potency of its Dragon Breath. Remember that the Deviljho has a mechanic where it will occasionally drop Dragonator parts in the Guiding Lands, which can be used to deal massive damage if you can lure it to the activation point.
