The Diablos is a formidable desert-dwelling wyvern known for its immense power and aggressive nature. This beast is a true test of a hunter's patience and precision, often found charging relentlessly and digging beneath the sands to launch surprise attacks. Mastering the Diablos requires understanding its predictable yet devastating patterns.

Diablos is primarily found in the Sandy Plains. Its most iconic attack is its burrowing ability. It will dig underground, leaving only its tail visible, before erupting from the ground with a powerful charge or a devastating tail swipe. To counter this, listen for the distinct sound of it digging and watch for the dust disturbance. When it's burrowing, you can often use Sonic Bombs to force it out of the ground, stunning it and creating an opening for attack. Be ready to dodge as soon as it surfaces.

Another key aspect of fighting Diablos is its sheer aggression. It has a powerful charge attack that can cover a significant distance, often followed by a quick turn and another charge. Its horns are also a major threat, capable of inflicting massive damage. Breaking its horns can reduce the effectiveness of some of its head-based attacks and potentially yield valuable crafting materials.

When engaging Diablos, consider bringing weapons with good reach, such as the Long Sword or Lance, to safely attack its legs and tail. However, be mindful of its sweeping attacks. Weapons that can inflict stun, like Hammers or Hunting Horns, can also be effective if you can land consistent hits on its head when it's not burrowing. The Insect Glaive can offer good mobility to evade its charges and reach its head.

Elemental weaknesses for Diablos are typically Dragon and Ice. However, its resistances can vary slightly, so always consult your Hunter's Notes. Status effects like Paralysis can also be beneficial, creating openings for sustained damage. However, Diablos is quite resistant to Blast and Poison.

Recommended Gear and Skills:
