The game features a calendar system with four weeks leading up to the Grand: Lakeshore's ultimate street racing challenge. Each week culminates in a Qualifier event. To participate, players must pay a buy-in fee, which is earned through various street races and activities during the day and night sessions throughout the week. Players have twelve sessions each week to earn the necessary cash and prepare their vehicles.

Rival encounters are a key part of the progression. Players can choose to earn attention through various means, including performing drifts, evading the Lakeshore Police Department, and placing sidebets on rivals.
