Base Tech Modules
Base Tech Modules are specialized components that enhance the functionality and utility of your bases in No Man's Sky. These modules range from storage solutions and power generation to advanced crafting and agricultural systems. Understanding and utilizing these modules is key to creating a self-sufficient and efficient operational hub for your interstellar adventures.
These modules are crafted using resources gathered from planets and space. They are installed directly into your base's construction grid. Each module serves a specific purpose, and combining them effectively allows you to automate resource gathering, process materials, store vast quantities of items, and even cultivate exotic plants. Investing time in researching and building these modules will sificantly improve your quality of life as a traveler.
Storage Modules
Essential for managing your inventory, storage modules allow you to store large amounts of resources safely at your base.
- Storage Container 01-09: Each container has its own independent inventory, meaning items stored in Container 1 are separate from Container 2, and so on. This allows for organized storage of different resource types.
Industrial Modules
These modules are focused on resource extraction and processing.
- Mineral/Gas Extractors: Automatically gather resources from planetary deposits when powered.
- Refiners: Process raw materials into more valuable or usable forms. Available in portable and larger base versions.
- Supply Crates: Can be linked to extractors to automatically deposit gathered resources.
Agricultural Modules
These modules allow you to cultivate plants for resources and ingredients.
- Hydroponic Trays: Indoor farming units that can grow various plants.
- Biodomes: Larger, outdoor farming structures that can house multiple plants and offer protection from the elements.
- Nutrient Processors: Used in conjunction with farming to create edible products and specialized ingredients.
Power Modules
Power is required to operate most base modules. These modules generate or store energy.
- Electromagnetic Generators: Generate power when placed on electromagnetic hotspots.
- Solar Panels: Generate power during the day.
- Batteries: Store excess power generated by Solar Panels for use at night.
- Geothermal-Powered Generators: Generate power on planets with geothermal vents.
Transport Modules
These modules facilitate movement around your base and between locations.
- Teleport Module: Allows you to warp to and from your base from any other discovered teleporter.
- Exocraft Summoning Station: Allows you to summon your Exocraft to your base location.
Crafting and Installation
To craft these modules, you will typically need to unlock their blueprints first. Blueprints are often obtained from the Construction Research Unit at your base, through missions, or by visiting Manufacturing Facilities. Once you have the blueprint and the required resources, you can select the module from your base building menu and place it within your base's construction area.
