In the vast universe of No Man's Sky, accumulating wealth is essential for acquiring better ships, upgrading your equipment, and expanding your operations. The game features several forms of currency and resources that can be converted into wealth, each with its own methods of acquisition and strategic use.
The primary currency is Units. Units are earned through various activities, including selling harvested resources and crafted goods at Galactic Trade Terminals, completing missions for NPCs, hunting pirates, and discovering rare items. High-value resources like Activated Indium, Pugneum, and various exotic materials can fetch sificant sums when sold.
Nanites are another crucial form of currency, primarily used for purchasing ship and multi-tool upgrades, as well as for unlocking new blueprints. Nanites are earned by refining salvaged data, completing missions, processing creature pellets, and sometimes by dismantling unwanted technology modules. They are a more specialized currency, vital for improving your core equipment.
Quicksilver, as mentioned previously, is a unique currency used for cosmetic items and special technologies. It's acquired through daily missions and community events, and spent at the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion on the Space Anomaly.
