Derelict Freighters are procedurally generated, abandoned vessels adrift in space, offering a high-risk, high-reward scavenging opportunity. Exploring them is a primary way to acquire valuable resources, unique freighter upgrades, and lore fragments.

Finding Derelict Freighters:

Emergency Broadcast Receivers: The most reliable method is to use an Emergency Broadcast Receiver. These can be purchased from Scrap Dealers in Space Stations or found as mission rewards. Activating one will ping the location of a nearby derelict freighter.
Space Encounters: Occasionally, while warping or flying through space, you may encounter a derelict freighter directly.

Exploration Strategy:

Derelict Freighters are often dark, claustrophobic, and filled with hazards. A methodical approach is recommended.
