Story

(Taken from the game's intro.)

"Fred: Pebbles! PE-BBLES! Where are you?

Barney: Hey, Fred! What's up?

Fred: I can't find Pebbles. Have you seen her?

Barney: No, but now that you mention it, I haven't seen Bamm-Bamm either. Hey, Fred, I don't like the sound of this.

Fred: C'mon Barn! We've got to find those kids.

Barney: I'm with you, buddy!"

Controls

A - Jump.

B - Attack.

Select - Switch characters.

Start - Pause.

Items

Food - Restores one heart.
Burger - Adds more power to Fred's POW meter (for his club).
Heart - Adds an extra heart to your health.
Milkshake - Adds extra block to your sub-weapon meter.
Extra life - Gives you an extra life.
Stars - These spell out YABBADABBADOO, letter by letter. You earn an extra life once all the letters are used.
Axe - One of the sub-weapons that you can pick up, flies in a curved path exactly like the axe in the Castlevania games. It's also used in exactly the same way as it is in Castlevania, by holding up and pressing B.
Bowling Ball - One of the sub-weapons that you can pick up, once thrown it quickly drops to the ground and starts rolling until it hits something.

Basics

In this game you can control one of two characters at any given time, each character also has their own unique qualities.

Fred - Can swing his club harder by holding B and releasing according to the POW(er) meter. He can also grab onto ledges while you hold A, and climb up onto them when you press up.
Barney - Has a long distance sling-shot for a weapon, he can also climb onto narrow poles since he's lighter than Fred.

Walkthrough

Stage 01

Use Fred for now as you walk right and kill a lizard, then club the red barrel for a heart. The bird on the roof ahead dives diagonally at you, so club him when he gets close.

Hang off the edge of the roof (hold A) and press up to climb onto it, then do the same to get onto the ledge to your right. Club another lizard and bird to your right, then switch to Barney and hang off the pole above.

Shimmy right to the other side and climb onto the roof, then grab some stars, a burger and milkshake from the barrels. Switch to Fred and drop off the right ledge, then kill a lizard and get some food from the barrel.

Jump a pair of gaps ahead and jump over some rolling rocks as you climb up the series of ledges. Jump left once you reach the top, then switch to Barney to reach the extra life.

Head right and grab food from a barrel, then fall into a pit and collect stars at the bottom while you kill an enemy. Use the poles to climb back out, then switch to Fred and head down the hill ahead of you.

Club or jump over the enemy, then jump the gap at the bottom and wait as far left as possible. This way you shouldn't get hit by the nearby fire, but once it goes away you can jump on the dinosaur's head.

Jump onto his horns and climb onto the ledge above, then jump onto this dinosaur's horns when it's safe. Climb onto the ledge above and head right past a few ledges to clear the stage.

"Fred: PEBBLES! Don't panic, honey! Daddy's coming!

Barney: Bamm-Bamm! Hang on, son!

Bamm-Bamm: BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!

Fred: Boy! Am I glad to see you! We're in BIG trouble! Gazoo, you've got to help us!

Gazoo: My powers can't penetrate the volcano! Seismology isn't my specialty, but legend has it that a Fire Dinosaur lives in this mountain. You should talk to him. Maybe he can stop the volcano flow.

Barney: Are you nuts? Talk to a Fire Dinosaur?! And just how are we going to get up there?

Gazoo: Maybe the pterodactyls can help you out!

Fred: C'mon Barney, let's go. There's not a moment to lose!"

Now you're on the world map, so just follow the path north of you to enter the forest.
