New Game Plus & Post-Game
Persona 5 Royal's New Game Plus (NG+) mode offers a wealth of opportunities to refine your playthrough and achieve goals that might have been missed the first time around. Upon completing the game, you'll retain key progression elements, including your Personas, money, and social stats. This allows you to tackle challenges with a sificant advantage. One of the primary benefits of NG+ is the ability to max out all Confidants and social stats with greater ease. With your stats already high, you'll spend less time on mundane activities and more time focusing on building relationships and completing objectives. The game also introduces new challenges and opportunities in NG+, such as the ability to fight optional superbosses and recruit higher-level Personas earlier in the game.
The Velvet Room also becomes more accessible for advanced Persona fusion. You can now fuse Personas with higher base levels and inherit skills more strategically, allowing you to create incredibly powerful allies. This is particularly useful for tackling the new superbosses that appear in the post-game content. The "Will Seed" collection, which is crucial for obtaining powerful accessories, can also be completed more efficiently. In NG+, you can revisit Palaces and collect any missed Will Seeds without having to restart the dungeon. Furthermore, if you have save data from the original Persona 5, you'll receive bonus items at the start of your NG+ playthrough, such as Hogyoku Apples and Band-Aces, which can provide an early boost. The ultimate goal in NG+ for many players is to achieve the Platinum trophy, which requires completing a multitude of tasks, including maxing all Confidants, defeating all optional bosses, and collecting all items. The knowledge gained from your first playthrough, combined with the retained progress, makes this an achievable, albeit challenging, endeavor.
