The Reaper is a recurring secret boss in the Persona series, and in Persona 5 Royal, it's a formidable challenge found in Mementos. Challenge Battles are new to Royal, found in the Thieves Den, offering unique combat scenarios.
The Reaper:
- Location: Mementos, any floor. It appears after you spend a certain amount of time on a single floor without moving.
- Strategy: The Reaper is immune to all ailments and has no weaknesses. It uses powerful Almighty attacks. The traditional 'Flu Season' strategy (where the Reaper can get Despair) is no longer reliable in Royal. You'll need a high-level party, powerful Personas, and excellent buffs/debuffs.
- Reward: Defeating the Reaper grants massive experience and the Omnipotent Orb (on NG+).
Challenge Battles:
- Location: Thieves Den.
- Types: Various challenges, often with specific party members or Persona restrictions.
- Rewards: P Medals, which can be exchanged for unique items and decorations.
Both the Reaper and Challenge Battles are designed for high-level, optimized parties and offer significant rewards for those who overcome them.
