Congratulations, Phantom Thief! Finishing the main story of Persona 5 Strikers is just the beginning. The post-game content offers a wealth of new challenges, powerful gear, and opportunities to truly master the combat system. Prepare for tougher foes and even deeper dives into the Jails you thought you knew.

New Game+ (Merciless Difficulty)

Upon completing the main story, you'll unlock the option to start a New Game+. The most significant feature here is the introduction of Merciless Difficulty. This isn't just a simple stat boost for enemies; it fundamentally changes combat:

• Enemy HP & Damage: Foes will have significantly more health and hit much harder. One wrong move can lead to a Game Over.
• Enemy Aggression: Shadows are more active and relentless in their attacks.
• Item Drop Rates: While challenging, Merciless difficulty often yields better item drop rates, especially for rare materials needed for powerful equipment.
• Recommended Preparation: Before diving into Merciless, ensure your Personas are well-fused with strong skills, your characters are at a high level (ideally 70+), and you've acquired some of the best weapons and armor available in the first playthrough. Stock up on healing items like Soul Food and Medical Ointment.

Powerful Requests: Dire Shadows and Rematches

After the credits roll, new requests will appear on your Request menu, many of which involve confronting powerful "Dire Shadows" or re-challenging past bosses. These are crucial for obtaining the best gear and unlocking further content.

• Dire Shadows: These are enhanced versions of regular Shadows found in specific Jails. They are marked with a red aura and are significantly stronger than their normal counterparts.
  • Strategy: Always approach Dire Shadows with a full SP bar and your strongest Personas equipped. Exploit their weaknesses relentlessly and use Baton Pass to maximize damage. Consider bringing characters with healing and support skills like Sophie (Mediarahan, Amrita Shower) or Mona (Mediarama, Salvation).
  • Notable Dire Shadows & Locations:
    • King Frost: Shibuya Jail. Drops rare crafting materials.
    • Black Frost: Sapporo Jail. Known for dropping powerful accessories.
    • Metatron: Osaka Jail. A formidable foe that can drop high-tier weapon materials.
  • Rewards: Defeating Dire Shadows often grants unique accessories, high-tier crafting materials, and large amounts of experience.
• Boss Rematches: You'll gain requests to re-fight the Monarchs from each Jail, but with increased difficulty.
  • Strategy: The strategies remain largely the same as your first encounter, but their HP and damage output are drastically increased. Focus on optimizing your team composition for each specific boss's weaknesses. For example, against Alice, bring strong Ice and Wind attackers.
  • Rewards: These rematches often reward you with unique accessories that boost specific stats or grant powerful passive abilities, such as the Monarch's Ring series.

The Painful Past Requests (Secret Bosses)

Once you've completed all the Dire Shadow and Monarch Rematch requests, a new series of requests will become available: "The Painful Past". These requests lead to encounters with incredibly powerful secret bosses, often requiring meticulous preparation and strategy.

• Unlocking: Ensure all other post-game requests (Dire Shadows, Monarch Rematches) are completed.
• Bosses: These are often unique, high-level Personas or Shadow versions of familiar faces. Expect multi-phase battles and devastating attacks.
• Strategy:
  • Level Up: Aim for character levels 90-99.
  • Ultimate Personas: Fuse your strongest Personas, such as Satanael, Lucifer, and Alice, ensuring they inherit powerful skills like Magic Ability, Trait Boost, and elemental amps/boosts.
  • Equipment: Equip your party with the absolute best weapons, armor, and accessories obtained from Dire Shadows and other post-game activities. The Ultimate Weapons (e.g., Joker's Paradise Lost) are highly recommended.
  • Consumables: Bring a full stock of high-tier healing items (Takemedic-All Z), SP recovery items (Soul Food), and status ailment cures.
  • Team Composition: A balanced team with strong physical, magical, healing, and support options is essential. Consider characters like Sophia for healing and buffs, Zenkichi for debuffs and physical damage, and Yusuke for critical hits and Ice damage.
• Rewards: Defeating these secret bosses yields the most powerful accessories in the game, often granting significant stat boosts or unique abilities that can trivialize future challenges.

Mastering the Bond System

Continue to level up your Bond skills. Many powerful Bond skills, such as Joker's Wild (increases Persona stats), Bondmaker (increases Bond experience gain), and HP/SP Boost, become incredibly potent at higher levels and are crucial for tackling Merciless difficulty and secret bosses.

• Grinding Bond EXP: Replaying Jails on Merciless difficulty, especially against Dire Shadows, is an excellent way to earn Bond experience.
• Recommended Skills: Prioritize skills that boost stats, increase item drop rates, and enhance combat effectiveness.
