Daily/Weekly Events and NPCs
Beyond the main story, Sinnoh offers a wealth of daily and weekly activities that provide valuable items, unique Pokémon encounters, and opportunities to strengthen your team. Don't miss out on these recurring events to maximize your adventure!
Daily Events
Berry Master's Farm (Route 208)
- What: Speak to the Berry Master's wife inside the house on Route 208. She will give you a random Berry once per day.
- Strategy: This is an excellent way to accumulate several Berries, including some rarer types, for use in battle, Poffins, or planting. Make it a habit to visit her daily after you've gained access to Route 208.
Honey Tree Encounters (Various Locations)
- What: Apply Honey to specific golden trees found throughout Sinnoh. After 6-24 hours, a wild Pokémon may appear. Munchlax is a rare encounter here.
- Locations: Honey Trees are found on Routes 205 (north and south), 206, 207, 208, 209, 210 (east and west), 211 (east and west), 212 (north and south), 213, 214, 215, 218, 221, 222, Eterna Forest, and Fuego Ironworks.
- Strategy: Purchase Honey from the man in Floaroma Meadow for 100 Poké Dollars. Apply Honey to multiple trees daily. Check back after a full day has passed to maximize your chances of finding rare Pokémon, especially Munchlax. Keep a strong Pokémon with False Swipe handy to catch them easily.
Jubilife TV Station Lottery (Jubilife City)
- What: Visit the Jubilife TV Station daily and speak to the woman at the counter on the ground floor. She will draw a lottery number. If any of your Pokémon's ID numbers match the drawn number (from the last digit up to all five digits), you win a prize!
- Prizes:
- Last Digit Match: Moomoo Milk
- Last Two Digits Match: PP Up
- Last Three Digits Match: Exp. Share
- Last Four Digits Match: Max Revive
- All Five Digits Match: Master Ball
- Strategy: The more Pokémon you have from trades, the higher your chances of winning, as traded Pokémon have different Trainer IDs. Make this a quick stop each day.
Veilstone Department Store (Veilstone City) - Daily Sale
- What: Check the top floor of the Veilstone Department Store daily. A specific item will be on sale for a reduced price.
- Strategy: While not always a game-changer, sometimes useful items like Poké Balls, Potions, or even evolution stones might be discounted. It's worth a quick check if you're in the area.
Floaroma Town Flower Shop (Floaroma Town) - Daily Berry
- What: Speak to the woman behind the counter in the Floaroma Town Flower Shop. She will give you a random Berry once per day.
- Strategy: Similar to the Berry Master's wife, this is another reliable source of free Berries.
Massage Girl (Veilstone City)
- What: In the house just south of the Veilstone Gym, a woman will give one of your Pokémon a massage once per day. This significantly increases its friendship (happiness) stat.
- Strategy: Essential for evolving Pokémon like Chansey (into Blissey), Golbat (into Crobat), or Budew (into Roselia). Prioritize Pokémon you want to evolve via friendship or those that benefit from high friendship in battle (e.g., Return).
Underground Mining (Sinnoh Underground)
- What: You can mine for treasures, Spheres, and evolution stones in the Sinnoh Underground as often as you like. The items you find reset and regenerate each time you re-enter the Underground.
- Strategy: This isn't strictly "daily" but is a recurring activity. Spend time here to gather valuable items like Heart Scales, Fossils, and various evolution stones (Fire Stone, Water Stone, Thunder Stone, Leaf Stone, Oval Stone, Everstone, Dawn Stone, Dusk Stone, Shiny Stone). You can also find Plates and Shards.
Weekly Events
Dr. Footstep (Route 213) - Footprint Ribbon
- What: Visit Dr. Footstep in his house on Route 213. If your lead Pokémon has high friendship and has gained at least 30 levels since you obtained it, he will award it the Footprint Ribbon.
- Strategy: This can only be obtained once per Pokémon. Focus on a Pokémon you've had for a long time and used extensively in battle.
Pal Park (Route 221) - Migrating Pokémon
- What: While not strictly weekly, Pal Park allows you to migrate Pokémon from your GBA Pokémon games (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen) to Diamond and Pearl. You can migrate up to 6 Pokémon every 24 hours.
- Strategy: This is crucial for completing your National Pokédex and obtaining Pokémon not found in Sinnoh. Plan your migrations carefully, as Pokémon cannot be sent back to GBA games.
Amity Square (Hearthome City) - Item Finds
- What: Walk around Amity Square with certain "cute" Pokémon (e.g., Pikachu, Clefairy, Psyduck, Pachirisu, Happiny, Buneary, Chansey, Jigglypuff, Torchic, Skitty, Shroomish, Plusle, Minun, Eevee, etc.). Your Pokémon may find items on the ground as you walk.
- Strategy: This isn't strictly weekly but can be done regularly. The items found (Berries, Potions, accessories) reset after a certain amount of walking or time. It's a good way to passively collect items while bonding with your Pokémon.
Great Marsh (Pastoria City) - Daily Pokémon Rotation
- What: The Pokémon available in the Great Marsh's binoculars (located on the second floor of the Great Marsh entrance building) change daily. These binoculars show you which rare Pokémon are currently appearing in specific areas of the marsh.
- Strategy: Check the binoculars daily to see if any Pokémon you're looking for (e.g., Carnivine, Croagunk, Skorupi) are present. The Pokémon in the marsh itself also rotate, so it's worth exploring even without checking the binoculars. Bring plenty of Great Balls and be prepared for the Safari Zone mechanics (limited steps, Pokémon can flee).
