Learn to play Voltorb Flip in Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. Get the Coin Case from Mr. Game and buy TMs like Thunderbolt for 10,000 Coins.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Speak to Mr. Game inside the redesigned Game Corner building to receive the Coin Case.
  2. 2
Play Voltorb Flip, a grid-based game where you reveal panels to find points (1x, 2x, 3x) and avoid Voltorbs.
  3. 3
The goal is to reveal panels to increase your coin multiplier. Finding a 2x or 3x panel multiplies the coins collected in the current game.
  4. 4
Press the B button to collect your current coins before hitting a Voltorb, which ends the game and forfeits current coins.
  5. 5
Level up by finding all the 2 and 3 multipliers on the board.
Tips
  • Prioritize clearing rows with 0 Voltorbs first.
  • If a row or column's number plus its Voltorb count equals 5, it only contains 1s and Voltorbs.
  • If the number plus the Voltorb count is greater than 5, the excess indicates the number of scoring squares (2x or 3x).
  • Use the memo function (accessible by pressing the X button) to mark squares you've identified as safe or containing Voltorbs.
  • Consider quitting a game after clearing 0 Voltorb rows if you want to secure a decent amount of coins without further risk.
  • Flipping 2s and 3s is key to earning coins and clearing levels; identifying squares that are not 2s or 3s improves your chances.
  • When the number of "extras" (scoring squares) is high, it can be harder to determine exact Voltorb locations.
  • A strategy is to first flip all squares in rows and columns with 0 Voltorbs.
  • Identify and mark rows/columns without "extras" (only 1s and Voltorbs possible).
  • Choose a row and then a column with the highest number of unknown extras (greedy) or the lowest number of Voltorbs (cautious), and flip that square. This involves some risk.
  • Repeat the process, using logic to deduce Voltorb locations and flip likely scoring squares.
  • If you have a good score but no guaranteed safe moves remain, quit and start a new game.
