Requests 1-10
Requests are optional side quests that become available as you progress through the main story missions. They often involve helping the residents of Jubilife Village or the various camps you establish across Hisui. Completing Requests is an excellent way to earn valuable items, Pokédollars, and increase your Star Rank with the Galaxy Team. This section will guide you through the first ten available Requests, providing detailed steps and strategies.
Request 1: Wurmple's Evolved Form
- Availability: After completing Mission 2: The Galaxy Team's Entry Trial.
- Requester: Beauregard, located near the front gate of Jubilife Village.
- Objective: Show Beauregard a Silcoon.
- Walkthrough:
- Speak to Beauregard to accept the Request. He's curious about Wurmple's evolution, specifically its form.
- Head to the Obsidian Fieldlands, specifically the Heartwood or Deertrack Path areas. Wurmple are abundant here, often found in groups.
- Catch several Wurmple. Wurmple evolves into either Silcoon (Bug/Psychic) or Cascoon (Bug/Poison) at level 7, with the evolution path determined randomly upon capture. You cannot influence this directly.
- Train your caught Wurmple by battling wild Pokémon or using Exp. Candies until it reaches level 7 and evolves. If it evolves into Cascoon, you'll need to try with another Wurmple. Keep catching and evolving until you get a Silcoon.
- Once you have a Silcoon in your party or pasture, return to Beauregard in Jubilife Village (he's usually standing near the main gate, just inside) and show it to him by interacting.
- Reward: 3x Potion, 3x Poké Ball.
- Strategy Tip: To speed up the process, catch multiple Wurmple and use Exp. Candies (S or M) to quickly level them to 7. This increases your chances of getting a Silcoon without extensive grinding.
Request 2: The Taste of Home
- Availability: After completing Mission 3: The Basics of Crafting.
- Requester: Radisa, found in the Galaxy Team's training grounds in Jubilife Village.
- Objective: Bring Radisa a Hearty Grains.
- Walkthrough:
- Accept the Request from Radisa. She's feeling nostalgic and misses a particular ingredient from home.
- Travel to the Obsidian Fieldlands. Hearty Grains can be found growing in various locations, particularly around the Aspiration Hill and Windswept Run areas. Look for tall, yellow-stalked plants with a distinctive leafy top. They are often found in grassy patches.
- Gather at least one Hearty Grains by interacting with the plant. You can gather more if you wish, as they are useful for crafting.
- Return to Radisa in Jubilife Village (she's typically near the training area, close to the river) and give her the Hearty Grains.
- Reward: 5x Poké Ball, 3x Revive.
- Common Pitfall: Ensure you're looking for the correct plant. Some other plants like Apricorn trees are also common, but Hearty Grains have a unique appearance.
Request 3: What is a Buizel Worth?
- Availability: After completing Mission 4: Getting to Work on Research Tasks.
- Requester: Dorian, standing on the bridge leading to the pastures in Jubilife Village.
- Objective: Catch a Buizel that is at least 2'8" (0.8m) tall.
- Walkthrough:
- Speak to Dorian to initiate the Request. He's looking for a particularly large Buizel for a special purpose.
- Head to the Obsidian Fieldlands. Buizel are commonly found in the Horseshoe Plains and Windswept Run areas, often near water bodies like rivers or ponds. They are usually found in groups.
- Catch multiple Buizel. The size of a Pokémon is somewhat random, though larger alpha Pokémon are always bigger. You can check their height in your Pokédex entry for Buizel after catching them. You're looking for one that meets or exceeds 2'8" (0.8m).
- Once you have a sufficiently large Buizel in your party or pasture, return to Dorian in Jubilife Village (he's on the wooden bridge connecting the main village to the pastures) and show it to him.
- Reward: 1x Oran Berry, 1x Exp. Candy S.
- Strategy Tip: To increase your chances of finding a larger Buizel, try catching them during outbreaks if they occur, or keep an eye out for slightly larger models in the overworld, though the exact size is only confirmed in the Pokédex.
Request 4: Big Buizel, Little Buizel
- Availability: Immediately after completing Request 3: What is a Buizel Worth?
- Requester: Dorian, still on the bridge in Jubilife Village.
- Objective: Catch a Buizel that is at least 3'3" (1.0m) tall.
- Walkthrough:
- Dorian will immediately offer this Request after you complete Request 3. He's still not satisfied with the size of the previous Buizel and wants an even bigger one!
- Return to the Obsidian Fieldlands, specifically the Horseshoe Plains and Windswept Run where Buizel are prevalent.
- Continue catching Buizel. This time, you're aiming for an even larger specimen, 3'3" (1.0m) or more. This might take a few attempts, as larger Pokémon are less common. You may need to catch many Buizel to find one that meets this specific requirement.
- Once you've found a Buizel of the required size (check its height in the Pokédex), show it to Dorian on the bridge.
- Reward: 2x Oran Berry, 2x Exp. Candy S.
- Strategy Tip: If you're struggling to find a large Buizel, consider resetting the area by returning to Jubilife Village and then back to the Obsidian Fieldlands. This will repopulate the Pokémon. Alpha Buizel, if encountered, will always be large enough, but they are much rarer and stronger.
Request 5: To Bloom or Not to Bloom
- Availability: After completing Mission 5: A Request from Mai.
- Requester: Kichi, located in the Galaxy Team's headquarters, on the first floor (ground floor).
- Objective: Show Kichi a Pokémon that evolves from a Budew (i.e., Roselia or Roserade).
- Walkthrough:
- Accept the Request from Kichi. She's curious about Budew's evolutionary line and wants to see one of its evolved forms.
- Budew evolves into Roselia during the daytime with high friendship. Roselia then evolves into Roserade with a Shiny Stone. You can either catch a Budew and evolve it, or catch a Roselia directly.
- Option A (Evolve Budew):
- Budew can be found in the Crimson Mirelands, particularly in the Golden Lowlands and Gapejaw Bog.
- Catch a Budew.
- Raise its friendship level. You can do this by having it in your party, battling with it (without it fainting), using it to gather resources (breaking ore, shaking trees), and feeding it Exp. Candies.
- Once its friendship is high enough (the Friendship Checker NPC in Jubilife Village can confirm this), level it up during the day (in-game time) to evolve it into Roselia.
- Option B (Catch Roselia):
- Roselia can also be found in the Crimson Mirelands, often in the Gapejaw Bog or Cloudcap Pass. This is generally the quicker option if you're lucky enough to find one. They are often found in flower patches.
- Once you have a Roselia (either caught or evolved) in your party or pasture, return to Kichi in Jubilife Village (inside the Galaxy Hall, on the ground floor) and show it to her.
- Reward: 1x Seed of Mastery, 3x Revive.
- Strategy Tip: Catching a Roselia directly is usually faster. If evolving Budew, ensure it's daytime in-game. You can change the time of day by resting at a camp or in your quarters.
Request 6: The Wisp of the Wetlands
- Availability: After completing Mission 6: Summoned by Commander Kamado.
- Requester: Anvin, standing outside the crafting workbench in Jubilife Village.
- Objective: Bring Anvin a Spiritomb's Wisp.
- Walkthrough:
- Talk to Anvin to accept this spooky Request. He's heard tales of mysterious wisps in the wetlands and wants to investigate.
- Travel to the Crimson Mirelands. Spiritomb's Wisps are glowing purple flames that appear exclusively at night. They are scattered across all regions of Hisui, but Anvin specifically mentions the wetlands.
- Locate and collect one Spiritomb's Wisp. In the Crimson Mirelands, they can be found in various open areas, sometimes near ruins, distinctive rock formations, or along riverbanks. Look carefully, as they can be somewhat subtle.
- Once you've collected a Wisp (you'll get a notification), return to Anvin in Jubilife Village (he's usually near the crafting bench by the front gate) and give him the Wisp.
- Reward: 1x Black Augurite.
- Lore Note: Collecting all 107 Wisps across Hisui is part of a much larger, separate Request (Request 22: Eerie Apparitions in the Night) that eventually leads to encountering Spiritomb. This Request only requires one.
Request 7: The Seeking of the Stantler
- Availability: After completing Mission 7: The Frenzy of the Lord of the Woods.
- Requester: Yume, located in the Galaxy Team's headquarters, on the first floor (ground floor).
- Objective: Catch a Stantler and complete its Pokédex entry to Research Level 10.
- Walkthrough:
- Accept the Request from Yume. She wants to learn more about Stantler and requires a fully researched entry.
- Head to the Obsidian Fieldlands. Stantler can be found in the Deertrack Heights area, often grazing in open fields.
- Catch a Stantler.
- To complete its Pokédex entry to Research Level 10, you'll need to fulfill several research tasks. Open your Pokédex and navigate to Stantler's entry to see the specific tasks. Common tasks for Stantler include:
- Catching multiple Stantler (e.g., 3, 5, 10).
- Defeating Stantler in battle (e.g., 1, 3, 6).
- Using specific moves against Stantler (e.g., using Agile Style moves, using Strong Style moves).
- Observing it using specific moves (e.g., Psyshield Bash).
- Evolving a Stantler into Wyrdeer (this is a key task for Stantler's entry and provides significant research points). To evolve Stantler, it must use Psyshield Bash in Agile Style 20 times.
- Feeding Stantler.
- Focus on completing enough tasks to reach Research Level 10 for Stantler. You don't need to complete every single task, just enough to fill the bar. Evolving it into Wyrdeer is highly recommended as it grants many points.
- Once Stantler's Pokédex entry is complete (indicated by a red Poké Ball icon next to its name in the Pokédex, and the Research Level reaching 10), return to Yume in Jubilife Village (Galaxy Hall, ground floor) and report your findings.
- Reward: 1x Leaf Stone.
- Strategy Tip: To evolve Stantler into Wyrdeer, teach it Psyshield Bash (if it doesn't already know it) and use it repeatedly in Agile Style during battles. You can battle weak Pokémon or even just wild Pokémon to rack up the uses.
Request 8: The Mystery of the Missing Mime
- Availability: After completing Mission 8: Arezu's Predicament.
- Requester: Sanqua, found near the front gate of Jubilife Village.
- Objective: Find and return Sanqua's lost Mr. Mime.
- Walkthrough:
- Speak to Sanqua to learn about her missing Mr. Mime. She's worried and believes it's playing tricks.
- Mr. Mime is indeed hiding in Jubilife Village, using its miming abilities to create invisible walls. You'll need to follow a trail of these illusions.
- First Location: Head towards the training grounds, just past the main gate. You'll see an invisible wall blocking the path near the entrance to the training area. Walk into it or interact with it. Mr. Mime will appear briefly and then move.
- Second Location: Go to the area behind the general store and craftworks. There's a small alleyway or corner here. Another invisible wall will be blocking a path or a small section. Interact with it. Mr. Mime will appear again and move.
- Third Location: Finally, Mr. Mime will be hiding near the pastures, specifically creating an invisible barrier around a tree or a small section of the fence near the bridge where Dorian stands. Interact with this last wall.
- After the third interaction, Mr. Mime will be "caught" and will stop its antics.
- Return to Sanqua at the front gate to complete the Request.
- Reward: 2x Aux Power, 2x Aux Guard.
- Common Pitfall: Players sometimes struggle to find the exact spot of the invisible walls. Walk slowly and interact with suspicious-looking empty spaces or paths that seem unusually blocked.
Request 9: The Search for the Shard
- Availability: After completing Mission 9: A New Mission.
- Requester: Vessa, located in the Galaxy Team's headquarters, on the first floor (ground floor).
- Objective: Bring Vessa a Red Shard, a Blue Shard, and a Green Shard.
- Walkthrough:
- Accept the Request from Vessa. She's interested in colorful shards and wants to study them.
- These shards are typically found by breaking red, blue, and green ore deposits scattered across the various regions of Hisui. They are also sometimes dropped by certain Pokémon (e.g., Geodude, Graveler, Golem) or found as sparkling items inside Space-Time Distortions.
- Recommended Locations for Ore Deposits:
- Obsidian Fieldlands: Look for ore deposits, especially in the Grandtree Arena, Deertrack Heights, and around the edges of the map.
- Crimson Mirelands: Ore deposits are plentiful here, particularly in the Gapejaw Bog, Cloudcap Pass, and near the Diamond Settlement.
- Space-Time Distortions: If one appears, enter it. Shards are common ground spawns within distortions, and Pokémon inside also drop them. This is often the fastest way to get all three.
- Break any red, blue, or green ore deposits you come across until you have at least one of each color (Red Shard, Blue Shard, Green Shard). You can use your Pokémon to break these deposits.
- Once you have all three shards in your satchel, return to Vessa in Jubilife Village (Galaxy Hall, ground floor) and hand them over.
- Reward: 1x Star Piece.
- Strategy Tip: Star Pieces are valuable items that can be sold for a high price (5,000 Pokédollars), so this is a good Request for early money. Prioritize entering Space-Time Distortions if they appear, as they are a reliable source of shards and other rare items.
Request 10: The Sea's Legend
- Availability: After completing Mission 9: A New Mission. This Request is posted on the blackboard in Professor Laventon's lab.
- Requester: Professor Laventon (via the blackboard).
- Objective: Investigate the legend of the Sea and find the Pokémon mentioned in it.
- Walkthrough:
- Read the Request on the blackboard in Professor Laventon's lab. It details a mysterious legend about the sea.
- The legend refers to three specific Pokémon: Buizel, Mantyke, and an Overqwil. You need to have these three Pokémon in your party when you pass through a specific rock formation.
- Step 1: Obtain Buizel: Buizel can be found in the Obsidian Fieldlands (Horseshoe Plains, Windswept Run). You likely already have one from previous requests.
- Step 2: Obtain Mantyke: Mantyke can be found in the Cobalt Coastlands, specifically in the Ginkgo Landing and Tranquility Cove areas. They are usually found swimming in the water.
- Step 3: Obtain Overqwil: Overqwil is the Hisuian evolution of Qwilfish.
- Catch a Hisuian Qwilfish in the Cobalt Coastlands (Tranquility Cove, Islespy Shore, Veilstone Cape).
- Teach Hisuian Qwilfish the move Barb Barrage.
- Use Barb Barrage in Strong Style 20 times in battle. Once this condition is met, Qwilfish will be ready to evolve into Overqwil from your satchel.
- Step 4: Form Your Party: Once you have Buizel, Mantyke, and Overqwil, place all three into your active party.
- Step 5: Visit the Seaside Hollow: Travel to the Cobalt Coastlands. With the three required Pokémon in your party, head to the "Seaside Hollow" cave, which is located in the northern part of Veilstone Cape. It's a distinctive cave entrance in the cliffs.
- Step 6: Trigger the Event: Simply pass through the entrance of the Seaside Hollow cave with the correct party. You will hear a mysterious sound, and a message will appear indicating that something has happened.
- Step 7: Find Manaphy and Phione: After the event in Seaside Hollow, travel to the Sea's Reach area, which is a small island accessible by riding Basculegion, located off the coast of the Cobalt Coastlands, east of Veilstone Cape.
- Step 8: Battle and Catch: On Sea's Reach, you will find Manaphy and three Phione. Engage them in battle. This is a challenging fight, as you'll be facing multiple Pokémon at once. Manaphy is a Water-type, and Phione are also Water-types.
- Recommended Strategy: Bring Pokémon with Grass or Electric-type moves for super effective damage. Be prepared for a multi-target battle. Focus on Manaphy first if you want to secure it, as it's the rarer of the group. Use status conditions like Sleep or Paralysis to make catching easier.
- Loadout: Bring plenty of Ultra Balls, Great Balls, and Potions/Revives. Consider using Pokémon that can hit multiple targets or have high speed to out-prioritize.
- Step 9: Report Back: After catching Manaphy (and optionally Phione), return to Professor Laventon in his lab in Jubilife Village and speak to him to complete the Request.
- Reward: 3x Comet Shard.
- Lore Note: This Request is a direct reference to a similar puzzle in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, which also involved these three Pokémon and a specific location to encounter Manaphy.
- Common Pitfall: Forgetting to have all three specific Pokémon (Buizel, Mantyke, Overqwil) in your active party when entering Seaside Hollow will prevent the event from triggering. Also, ensure your Qwilfish is Hisuian Qwilfish, not the regular Johtonian form.
