Pallet Town & Route 1

Your grand adventure in the Kanto region begins in the serene and picturesque Pallet Town. Upon meeting the esteemed Professor Oak, you will be presented with your very first Pokémon companion: either Pikachu or Eevee, depending on the version of the game you are playing. This partner Pokémon will be your steadfast ally throughout your journey. After this pivotal moment, it is recommended to visit your house and speak with your Mom. She will bestow upon you the Town Map, an indispensable tool for navigating the vast world of Kanto. Before venturing out, take a moment to locate your Rival, who will be waiting for you on the northern outskirts of Pallet Town. A brief interaction with your Rival will set the stage for the friendly competition that will define much of your journey. With your initial preparations complete, you will then head north onto Route 1. This initial route is designed as a gentle introduction to the game's mechanics. Professor Oak will intercept you here, providing you with your first set of Poké Balls and offering crucial advice on how to catch wild Pokémon. Route 1 is populated by a few common wild Pokémon, such as Pidgey and Rattata, which are excellent for practicing your catching techniques and for early-game team building. These Pokémon are relatively easy to defeat and capture, allowing you to familiarize yourself with the game's battle and catching systems. As you progress north along Route 1, you will eventually reach Viridian City, the first major town on your journey, marking the end of this introductory segment and the beginning of more substantial challenges and exploration.
