Purification Rituals & Sificance
The purification of Shadow Pokémon is a cornerstone mechanic and narrative element in Pokémon Colosseum. It represents the player's role in healing the wounds inflicted by the Cipher organization and restoring balance to the Orre region. Unlike traditional Pokémon games where Pokémon are caught and trained, here, the act of "Snagging" a Shadow Pokémon is only the first step. These corrupted creatures must undergo a process of purification to regain their true nature and become loyal allies.
Purification is achieved through a combination of actions. The most direct method is by engaging in battles with the Shadow Pokémon, which gradually lowers its "aggression" level. Additionally, spending time with the Pokémon outside of battle, such as walking around the various locations in Orre, also contributes to its purification. The "Purify" feature in the Pokémon Center is the ultimate step, allowing You to fully restore the Pokémon once its aggression is sufficiently lowered. The sificance of purification extends beyond gameplay; it symbolizes hope, redemption, and the power of compassion to overcome darkness. Successfully purifying a Shadow Pokémon not only unlocks its full potential but also represents a victory over Cipher's destructive influence.
