[Docks] Collectibles

The Docks, a grimy and bustling hub of maritime trade and illicit dealings, holds a surprising number of hidden treasures and valuable secrets. Amidst the creaking timbers, stacked crates, and salty air, you'll find lore fragments that paint a picture of the area's history, rare crafting components essential for upgrades, and unique items that can fetch a good price from discerning merchants. Thorough exploration is key to uncovering these valuable finds.

The Docks are a sprawling area, characterized by a network of piers, warehouses, and shipwrecks. This environment is ripe for discovery, with many collectibles tucked away in hard-to-reach places or guarded by opportunistic scavengers and mutated sea creatures. Prioritize clearing out hostiles before embarking on your treasure hunt to ensure a safe and efficient search.

Key Collectible Types:

  • Ship Manifests: These lore items detail cargo and passenger lists, offering insights into the pre-apocalypse world and the Docks' former importance.
  • Salvaged Parts: Essential for crafting and upgrading weapons and armor. Look for Marine Grade Steel, Waterproof Canvas, and Copper Wiring.
  • Smuggler's Cache Keys: Rare items that unlock hidden stashes containing valuable loot, often found in locked containers or guarded by tougher enemies.
  • Lost Personal Effects: Items like old photographs, worn journals, and unique trinkets that add to the world's narrative and can sometimes be traded for unique rewards.

Specific Collectible Locations:

  • The Captain's Quarters (Shipwrecked Vessel): A large, partially submerged ship near the eastern pier. Inside the captain's cabin, often behind a locked door requiring a Rusty Key, you'll find a Ship Manifest and a chance for Salvaged Parts.
  • Warehouse 7 (West Side): This large warehouse is usually patrolled by Scavenger Bandits. Inside, look for a hidden alcove behind a stack of crates on the upper level. It contains a Smuggler's Cache Key and a good amount of Copper Wiring.
  • The Old Lighthouse: Climb to the top of the lighthouse for a panoramic view. A small maintenance room at the base often contains a Lost Personal Effect (e.g., a 'Seafarer's Compass') and some Tattered Cloth.
  • The Fish Market Ruins: This area is infested with mutated aquatic creatures. Search the overturned stalls and debris for a chance to find Waterproof Canvas and occasionally a Ship Manifest.
  • The Shipyard Crane: If you can find a way to activate or reach the control room of the large, rusted crane, you might be able to swing a suspended container to reveal a hidden compartment containing Marine Grade Steel.

Collection Strategy:

  1. Prioritize Safety: Clear out any immediate threats before you begin your search. The Docks can be a dangerous place.
  2. Look Up and Down: Many collectibles are placed on high ledges, inside partially submerged areas, or within the hulls of wrecked ships.
  3. Interact with Everything: Open every container, check behind every object, and explore every accessible room.
  4. Use Environmental Clues: A glint of light, an unusual object placement, or a slightly ajar door can indicate a hidden collectible.

By diligently searching the Docks, you'll not only uncover valuable resources and lore but also gain a deeper appreciation for the maritime history that once defined this area.
