Chapter 3: The Lower Levels

Chapter 3: The Lower Levels thrusts Roman into a challenging maze environment where careful navigation and puzzle-solving are essential. The goal is to locate specific key objects and manipulate the environment to progress, all while avoiding or strategically engaging the Abomination.

In the Underground Maze, your primary objective is to locate two key objects. Begin by heading to the southwest portion of the maze to find the first key. From the save point area, go down one corridor, then turn right. You will encounter a stone mural on the wall to the right just before reaching the key object. Proceed forward from the mural, then turn left to retrieve the Small Circular Piece from a triangular podium, which is illuminated by a light above it and surrounded by figures on the wall. After acquiring this item, return to the save point area. If you take the north (left) path at the second intersection on your way back, you'll find a red glowing sign from the subway area, an unlabeled area of interest.

In the final arena, you will face the Abomination. This encounter is more of a puzzle than a direct combat scenario. You control both Roman and Freya, switching between them using the RB button when Roman holds a lever. Freya is positioned on a high walkway.

As Roman, run toward the back wall to the left from your starting position. Locate a collapsed and cracked pillar on the floor. Lure the Abomination to smash down on this pillar, revealing a revolving mechanism (a rotating floor) underneath. When you take control of Freya, ignore the console directly in front of her. Run to her left (your right) and position her next to the first console you encounter (marked with a border). This action will allow her to pass through a gate that Roman is holding open. Switch back to Roman.

As Roman, release the lever and turn around, heading back to the area you came from. Search for two circular pressure pads. One is near the hole where the Abomination is located, and the other is further away, closer to the back wall. The pressure pad closest to the boss will spawn a "Baby Face" enemy. The pressure pad closer to the wall will raise a gate, revealing another lever.

The strategy is to activate the pressure pad closest to the boss to spawn a "Baby Face" enemy. Then, lure this enemy toward the back pressure pad (closest to the outer wall) and defeat it on that pad. The enemy's weight will keep the pressure pad active. To prevent the Abomination from slamming down on the enemy, run to the left after spawning the enemy to draw the boss's attack, then move back toward the outer wall, keeping the enemy to your right. Once the enemy is on the pad, it should remain active.
