The Abandoned Apartment Complex

Your journey begins in the dilapidated Apartment Complex, a labyrinth of forgotten lives and unsettling echoes. This area serves as your initial hub and introduces core mechanics.

  • Starting Apartment (Room 302):
    • Key Item: Rusty Apartment Key - Found on the small table next to the flickering television. Essential for exiting your initial room.
    • Interactable: Journal Entry 1 - On the bedside table. Provides crucial early lore and hints.
    • Strategy: Immediately after acquiring the key, check the bathroom for a Bandage in the medicine cabinet. Every bit of healing counts.
  • Third Floor Hallway:
    • Threat: First encounter with a "Whisperer." These creatures are blind but highly sensitive to sound.
    • Strategy: Crouch (default 'C' on PC, 'Left Stick Click' on console) and move slowly. Avoid running or interacting with noisy objects. If detected, sprint to the stairwell.
    • Item: Flickering Flashlight - On a broken chair near the elevator shaft. Crucial for navigating darker areas. Requires Drained Batteries to function, which are found scattered throughout the complex.
  • Maintenance Room (Ground Floor):
    • Access: Requires the Maintenance Room Keycard, found in the Janitor's Closet on the second floor (behind a locked door requiring the Janitor's Closet Key, which is in Apartment 204's kitchen drawer).
    • Key Item: Fuse Box Handle - Located on a workbench. This is vital for restoring power to the elevator.
    • Puzzle: The Fuse Box itself requires the correct sequence of three fuses (Red, Blue, Green) to be inserted. The sequence hint is scrawled on the wall next to the box: "Blue before Red, Green is last."

The Subterranean Tunnels

Beneath the apartment complex lies a network of damp, claustrophobic tunnels. This area is significantly darker and introduces new environmental hazards.

  • Entrance (Elevator Shaft):
    • Access: After restoring power in the Maintenance Room, use the elevator. Be prepared for a sudden drop and a brief moment of disorientation.
    • Threat: "Crawlers" begin to appear here. These creatures are fast and attack from the ground. Keep your distance and use environmental obstacles to your advantage.
  • Flooded Section:
    • Hazard: Deep water slows your movement and can obscure Crawlers.
    • Key Item: Worn Rubber Boots - Found on a ledge above the water. Equipping these (from your inventory) will slightly increase your movement speed in water and prevent minor electrical shocks from exposed wiring.
    • Puzzle: A submerged gate blocks your path. To open it, you'll need to find the Valve Wheel in the adjacent dry cavern and attach it to the mechanism.
  • Generator Room:
    • Access: Past the flooded section, through a narrow passage.
    • Objective: Restore secondary power. This requires finding three Fuel Cans scattered throughout the preceding tunnel sections. One is hidden behind a stack of crates, another in a small alcove accessible by crawling, and the last is near the Flooded Section's exit.
    • Item: Rusty Pipe - A basic melee weapon found leaning against the generator. Offers a slight advantage against Crawlers.

The Abandoned Hospital Wing

Emerging from the tunnels, you'll find yourself in a chilling hospital wing, where the true horror of Post Trauma begins to unfold. Expect more complex puzzles and stronger adversaries.

  • Reception Area:
    • Item: Hospital Map (Partial) - Pinned to a corkboard. Essential for understanding the layout of this sprawling area.
    • Threat: "Stalkers" are introduced. These tall, gaunt figures are relentless and can open certain doors. Stealth is paramount.
  • Operating Theater:
    • Access: Requires the Operating Theater Key, found in the Head Nurse's Office (Room B-12), which itself needs the Office Keycard from the Security Room.
    • Key Item: Surgical Saw - On a bloody operating table. This tool is needed to cut through a specific barricade later in the wing.
    • Puzzle: A complex blood-type puzzle on a locked cabinet. The solution is found in a patient's chart in Room B-07: "O-Negative for the donor, AB-Positive for the recipient."
  • Morgue:
    • Access: Located in the basement, accessible via a service elevator that requires the Elevator Maintenance Key from the hospital's boiler room.
    • Threat: The Morgue is home to a unique, grotesque entity. Avoid direct confrontation if possible.
    • Key Item: Patient Zero's Locket - Found within one of the refrigerated drawers. This locket is a critical story item and will trigger a significant event upon retrieval.
